Seth Rollins Injured
November 5, 2015
Dublin, Ireland

Breaking news coming from WWE this afternoon, as it has been revealed that the injury Seth Rollins suffered last night in Dublin at a WWE Live Event will keep the WWE World Heavyweight Champion out of action well into 2016. The injury, an ACL and MCL tear in Rollins’ right knee, occurred in a main event against Kane on the first night of WWE’s current tour of the Europe. Rollins is expected out 6-9 months, although similar injuries have kept other professional athletes out even longer. With Rollins’ style in the ring, we could be looking at an absence much closer to the 9 months than the shorter possibility.

With Seth Rollins injured, WWE has announced that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be vacated. Seth Rollins was scheduled to defend the title against Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE Survivor Series, but now, that plan is out of the window. Instead, WWE will be announcing details of a championship tournament, with the winner to be crowned as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Survivor Series.

Friends of Seth Rollins immediately took to Twitter to voice their encouragement of Rollins.

Fans also took to social media to share their disbelief, while also speculating what could be done with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Assuming Roman Reigns is in the tournament, I asked readers who they wished would win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Within minutes, here were the responses. You can continue to vote @ShakeThemRopes on Twitter, or discuss the possibilities on our VOW Forums.
