They had all rights to be the midwest PWG for a few years. They had the finances to do it and there was the sustainable talent across the country and the world to make it happen. It led them to tremendous growth and was by all accounts a great business move. Now, as many expected, that well has dried up so it's time to develop from within. They've done that over the course of the last year but they'll REALLY need to ramp it up now and get things going for next year and beyond.

Yeah these super indies had their time in the sun, now the long term investments of places like Beyond and AIW and forward thinking of places like Black Label Pro is going to pay dividends.

I'll be there this Saturday. I was disappointed that I couldnt do GCW or evolve the last two weeks so hopefully the show is fun.

The line up is a little weak so hopefully someone steps up and has some good matches.

It's Friday, FYI. Yeah, lots of common places using similar talent running the same time, but last November to me was their most recent peak based on the new talent, so hopefully this will freshen things up a bit.

The show ended up really exceeding my expectations, as AAW tends to do with the Logan Square shows. My fav match of the night had to be Yehi vs Kingston which shocked me. They beat the shit out of each other for 15 minutes including Yehi doing a double stomp to the outside and crashing into a bunch of chairs seemingly face first. Every time I see Yehi he has one of the best matches of the show, AAW has to keep bringing him back if his schedule allows.

Miguel beating DJZ was a big surprise and it was easily the best I've ever seen Miguel look. He seemed extra motivated and had a few huge spots that connected.

Penta/Fenix vs Reed and Fox was good too, Fenix is still one of the best in the world and AR Fox always delivers. Some of the stereo moves they did was a bit much at times.

Finally, they got Brody King over huge in one night. I'd never seen him before but he was impressive. Pre show they did an angle with him and Callihan getting in a fight at the merch area, it was well done and almost seemed real at first. He then mauled Darby and got involved in the ladies main event, presumably setting up some big brawls with Callihan over the summer which should be fun.

Anyone else going to the show tomorrow at Bourbon Street? Looks like a pretty fun lineup with ACH/Besties vs Wrstling and Fenix vs Dezmond Xavier interesting me the most. Plus some reasonably priced suburb beers, should be a fun night

Jake Something is a really stupid name. I'll bet that's something(pun not intended) thats holding him back from getting more bookings.

It's as indie as it gets as his call for people to answer "What's my name?"

I loved Joe's rant on the TV reviews about Indy promoters not building new stars. He picked on AAW, now I'm gonna pick on them.

Why in the fuck did ACH and Trevor Lee go an hour? Was that a match they needed to book? Both guys are heavily rumoured to be signed in January. If they only have one or two shows left why are they wrestling each other instead of putting guys over? They know both guys are probally gone, why not make the most of their final appearances?

They're another one of these places that seem to wait to see who PWG is booking or who's getting hyped up online rather than seek out new talent themselves. At the rate things are going they're only going to be left with Sami Callihan, Jimmy Jacobs and David Starr when it's all said and done.

There's all this fear and outrage over the latest WWE signings. Yes, WWE are making moves and they have one goal in mind. However, some of these groups should also blame themselves if this situation is going to put them in a hole for not doing the right thing and trying to find and develope new stars or coming up with ways to reinvent themselves. They should've looked to start making moves for the future the moment it became clear that Keith Lee and Matt Riddle were signing,
