Re: Joe & Rich Recommend Matches to Each Other: Match Recommendations
I will nominate The Undertaker v Kurt Angle World Heavyweight Title match from 2/19/06 @ No Way Out
Back in January when the debate about whether or not Almas and Gargano had pulled off the best match in WWE history was taking place, I did a small inventory of my personal favorite WWE matches that I would have considered to be at least 4.5 stars or higher. I felt this match easily met that cutoff as it was Undertaker's umpteeth return but this time he came back with a passion for MMA and had incorporated more technical compact striking and submission work to his in-ring style and it meshed perfectly with Angle. Historically it does feel like this match is forgotten(likely due to it happening before Wrestlemania) and might be an underrated gem. So if you guys pick this match I'm interested to hear your thoughts on how it holds up?

YES!!!!!! So excited for this. Would love if you could do one of these:
All three are in my top 10 for Best Of Japan in the 2000s. Not sure if Rich has seen any of them and I definitely don't think I've heard Joe talk about any of them. The first match is the peak of the style created by that era of the NJPW juniors. The second match is one of the most heated epics I've ever seen. The third is the match that cemented Tanahashi as a world class champion for the first time.

Neck-and-neck with both Seven Sea Miles vs. Bushijo (STARDOM 12/23/14) and Incoherence vs. Super Smash Brothers (CHIKARA 09/21/08) as the tag match I've probably re-watched the most. Just a ridiculous pace for such big--and in once case, old--dudes, and that CROWD.

I nominate The Rock and Sock Connection vs Val Venis and British Bulldog from RAW October 11th 1999. This is the famous dog poop match, but the actual match is really damn good too.

Re: Joe & Rich Recommend Matches to Each Other: Match Recommendations
Anderson and Benoit against The American Males, Nitro #40 (June 17th, 1996)
Simple tag, but watching the Nitros, I'm finding myself thinking that pre-Buff Bagwell was Actually Good and the American Males might be underrated. Also, Meltzer gave it ***1/2.
