Definitely has a shot, just wonderful, glorious violence. Flair is pushed to the edge, Funk is out of control, the pain, the anger, the hatred, it's all so much fun.
One of the common complaints you hear about modern wrestling is when you have a grudge match set up with one or more competitors looking for revenge...and then they start the match as if it's just another match. This match was the antithesis of this-this was Ric Flair looking to tear Terry Funk limb from limb for nearly breaking his neck two months prior. It is, by the sheer fact that Flair is the face, a very different title match from Flair. The typical tropes of legwork are missing and instead, Flair focuses on chops, tossing Funk all over the ring and the ringside area and trying to doing everything short of killing Funk. Funk is no less interested in finishing the job he started in Nashville and much like his WWF run, he bumps in manner for crazier than you would expect/want from someone his age. Even the postmatch brawl is exceptional in terms of violence and does something that is often missed these days-it's a clean win with the feud being far from over.
