It's all about $$$$. Punk will sell PPVs. That means more than paying dues.

If you're to believe him, he said he would have worked regional shows first. Plus, what spot is he really taking? PPV opener via taking the third slot and sliding down the other two? They have two legit fights in the main and co main slot, and you could argue the show sold out almost entirely on the strength of the champion headliner Stipe. We'll see if he has a second fight, and if they position him as a headliner for a TV/Fight Pass card. Then there may be a better argument for being a hypocrite.
Re: Official WWE Thread: Post-WrestleMania 32
I don't necessarily think Punk is a hypocrite because it's not like he made the call here. Part of the decision on UFC's part was marketing and he clearly has more cache than almost anyone with comparable experience. Plus, you have the crossover appeal which may be a muted version of what Brock had when he came in.
I tend to dislike ideological purists in all walks of life and Punk's complaints towards the end of his WWE career about the use of part timers definitely felt like that sort of complaint. Now, he's using the same 'evil' he once decried to get a leg up in his new passion.

Bertie Del Rio got the 30 day Wellness Hammer.
Re: Official WWE Thread: Post-WrestleMania 32
I watched the Smackdown main event last night and said to myself, "How the fuck does Del Rio pass a drug test?" Welp ...themib wrote:Bertie Del Rio got the 30 day Wellness Hammer.

Can we now look into what causes his stomach to look sunken in?
Re: Official WWE Thread: Post-WrestleMania 32
So I guess last night may have been the last we saw of Del Rin in WWE then. Lots of questions about what the mentality regarding him would be with LU or the promotions in Mexico. I can actually see him joining TNA this time around. They'll offer him crazy monew. Plus, hasn't Drew Galloway been pushing for him?
Re: Official WWE Thread: Post-WrestleMania 32
They did the same to Razor Ramon 20 years ago when he told WWF he was joining WCW.
ADR attended a MMA show last weekend without WWE permission as well the contract and personality clash with Triple H.
Triple H waiting until after the NXT press conference is great too.
Massive pinch of salt here. Haven’t been able to get the same level of information about Paige’s condition as I did before. But according to well connected Paige fans her evaluation on Monday resulted in a “terrible” prognosis.

ADR: you had a dope-ass ladder match with Christian in 2011. You will be missed!

What do ya'll make of the VKM trust selling off a ton of stock?
Re: Official WWE Thread: Post-WrestleMania 32
Not to delve too far into my real life job, but it was an estate planning technique, nothing more or less. The type of trust those shares were in requires an annual payment to the creator (Vince) of the trust each year. No way of knowing when it was set up and therfore the applicable interest rate, but if it was created in a high interest rate environment, he may have need more liquidity to make the payment.Ferrante207 wrote:What do ya'll make of the VKM trust selling off a ton of stock?
He controls 83% or so of the voting stock and 46% of the total stock, so it's not like his control changes.

I 100% support shipping Paige off to NXT for a while like with Tyson Kidd so she can get back what she's lost in-ring since moving up to the Main Roster.

Seeing this makes me think (and I'm purely speculating) that Del Rio didn't get popped for PEDs and he took something with Paige on their leisure. Again, I'm purely speculating.mlev76 wrote:So, I wrote that I thought he'd be back but never posted my post.

Pretty petty of WWE to suspend both of them on Paige's birthday.
