It's a matter of public image. Leaving the Hall would be admitting defeat.

Face takes roughly 700 people, so the typical number of people AJPW draws in Tokyo wouldn't look too bad in there. And they could run the hall for things like the champion's carnival and other big shows. Or would that be considered defeat?
It's what they should do, and it's what they have done with most of their other venues. They won't do it though, that's like their unofficial home in a way, and therefore image means that they have to run it.

The 1/3 show was pretty terrible. What the fuck was that main event.

I don't have much interest in checking out the whole show but Fujiwara/Aoki ruled and I'd be surprised if it doesn't end up being my favourite match from this year.

All Japan are going to start uploading matches from their tours on to Youtube. This is the top 2 matches from the 1/10 show.

This is great news, although the first match is very slightly clipped for some reason and the video ends in the middle of the second match, lol. Looks like somebody fucked up...

That Akiyama/Aoyagi vs. Miyahara/Lee match is very good. I don't understand why they would clip it though, especially when they only clipped like 2 minutes out of it...

Jun vs Suwama was great. Every match has been great this year.

Not sure why people think Ajpw is far removed from the 90's Ajpw. It's closer to it in booking and style compared to all other promotions out there now.

I agree with you but uh, it's pretty obvious why.

Anyway, Keiichi Sato signed with Wrestle-1. Yikes.

After all the jumps from AJPW lately, people really thought Sato wasn't lying?

Yeah, I've seen that happen a lot in Japan. Someone will fake an issue to show up elsewhere. It was the only way he could get out of his contract to be Kotaro's assistant.

Korakuen was pretty empty but over the next couple of months All Japan is embracing the indy and booking some pretty fun wrestlers.

Some March matches happening

Shuji Ishikawa vs. Jake Lee
Atsushi Aoki & Hikaru Sato vs. Atsushi Maruyama & Masashi Takeda
Kento Miyahara vs. Naoya Nomura
Jun Akiyama, Zeus & The Bodyguard vs. Daisuke Sekimoto, Yuji Okabayashi & Daichi Hashimoto
Jun Akiyama & Super Tiger vs. Kento Miyahara & Jake Lee
Tatsuhiko Yoshino from GUTS will work the Yokohama show in March and there will be a Triple Crown defense in Okinawa on 3/21.

Champion Carnival is 4 dates this year with 14 guys and 2 blocks.

Block A
Kento Miyahara
Naoya Nomura
The Bodyguard
Daisuke Sekimoto
Jun Akiyama
Kengo Mashimo
Super Tiger

Block B
Zeus
Yutaka Yoshie
Takao Omori
Jake Lee
Hideyoshi Kamitani
Ryouji Sai
Joe Doering
