Under Dave rules Cain Justice probably counts, and has to be considered. Literal MVP of his whole damn promotion.

The list gets sent to dave, fwiw. Also the point is to raise awareness, you never know who will seek these people out.

Keep 'em coming.
I just meant in the general sense as I don't see a joshi candidate having much of a chance.

Yusuke Okada from All Japan has to be up there for discussion for being one of the better ones at least (not sure if he is THE best rookie, but he is one of the better ones at least). He is very good in ring for having only wrestled for just under 12 months now. And he has a very good grasp of emoting and getting feelings and emotions across in a match, so even if he isn't an in ring standout like Takuya Nomura of last year, his matches still click and connect. His little feud with Keichii Sato (the All Japan rookie that graduated before Okada and bailed to follow Kotaro Suzuki) during the latter part of 2017 is a nice mini blood feud.

Yoshimura in DDT is another name for the list. Big dude, has an interesting look and he carried a feud with Takeshita on mic work alone.

Ganseki Tanaka and Takanaori Ito in Wrestle-1 are two more. Ito is the obvious standout but Tanaka is no slouch either and has already won gold in his rookie year, winning the six man belts in W-1.

If I have to pick a rookie of the year it has to be Yoshimura had a great feud with Takeshita he has the potential to be really great HOSS wrestler.

How long has Dominic Garrini been wrestling? Cause he has no Cagematch profile and he's already one of my favorites on the US indies.

Made his debut on March 5, 2016 so he is not eligible

Kavita Devi is far from a rookie. She's been wrestling in CWE (Indian promotion) as Hard KD for many years.

A couple of English names I have in mind are Candyfloss and Millie McKenzie. Millie may be dubious as she might have done some low level indies before September 2016, but Candyfloss' first recorded match as far as I've seen was November 2016. Both are really good.

I would think not simply because he did pro wrestling for a couple of years (though it was at the smaller independent level) before getting into MMA and did a little bit of pro wrestling early in his MMA career (prior to signing to UFC in 2009). Seems like someone that had pro wrestling experience, then did years of MMA, then returned to pro wrestling at a bigger level would add-up to not counting as a rookie.

Thanks. Do you have an approximate start date for her? What year? I see her as a good comp for some of the guys who come out of Aus/NZ and end up in NJPW (like Henare), I'll add a footnote to her.

I found match records as far back as 2001. I'm not going to include him, that's 16 years, ffs lol.

Added Candyfloss.

Can you link me to match records for McKenzie?
