Has two different lives in the company. I think the great BC trios stuff during his second life bumps him up a few spots.

They were easily the best trios team in wrestling in 2015. Maybe one of the best trios teams ever? (hard to say with the trio only really teaming for about a year, but their matches were always great).

They also laid the foundation for the whole "Bucks and BC leader trio" thing in general. His matches with Cole were excellent and he had an excellent Final Battle main event against Lethal. Really enjoyed both ends of his work.

I'd argue he has three different lives. Early ROH where he looked like a complete athletic freak, especially in matches the tag matches with Red vs. the Briscoes, where he just dwarfs all of them. Then his return while he was in TNA, then post-TNA in 2014. When you combine everything, it feels like he should definitely be in the top 5, but I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze him in.

Too many guys with longer resumes for top 5 and top 10 in my opinion. Top 25 is certainly possible.

And that short feud with Sydal during the Gen Next period.

Hmmm...yeah, I can see it, too bad he may never have an RoH title run though.

Phenomenal body of work and a business mover to boot. I could see a case for the top 10.

I can't fathom someone leaving him off a Top 50 list. As others have said, he had three different prolonged runs with the company each a little different and each with new matches, new styles and standouts across the board. I just can't see how you wouldn't find space for him.

Every stint he had in the company he was great to watch. I see myself placing him pretty high on the list.

Maybe more variety of great matches than anyone else in ROH history, Bryan included. I'm a massive fan of his early years and think his matches with Low Ki and Bryan have aged tremendously. His 2014 stuff if really great too and he deserves massive credit for how hard he worked. Random matches like his singles with Kyle in Milwaukee or Fish in Atlanta were so much better than they needed to be.

I'm doing a huge ROH deep dive and right now I'm at the end of 2002. Biggest takeaway, AJ had as many good-great matches as Ki or Danielson and may even be more impressive than them. I think his stuff during this era is criminally undersold even by hardcore ROH fans.

The more A.J. matches I watch the more amazed I am by his versatility. I always had him pegged as a great flyer, but I just watched a match from where he tagged with Sydal against Aries and Jack Evans, and he was throwing Jack around with power moves in addition to his usual stuff. He's another "if TNA never existed how high could he go" wrestler.
