NJPW/ROH Honor Rising:Japan 2016

Post by Morten VH » Sat Jan 30, 2016 4:04 am

Thought a combined thread was needed for these shows, so we don't end up discussing the show in both the NJ and ROH thread.

NJPW has just announced the 11 ROH wrestlers, who will join NJPW stars for the two nights at Korakuen Hall.

* Jay Lethal (ROH Champion)
* Roderick Strong [Debut]
* Jay Briscoe
* Mark Briscoe
* Michael Elgin
* Adam Cole
* Kyle O'Reilly
* Bobby Fish
* Moose [Debut]
* Dalton Castle [Debut]
* Delirious [Debut]

I would've figured that The Addiction and Matt Sydal would have been part of this tour too considering that they worked New Japan shows last year. Although with Christopher Daniels suspended on ROH TV maybe Curry Man will show up?

Curry Man could've added some entertainment to a couple of undercard tag matches, and it's really a shame that didn't happen. But The Addiction as Kazarian/Daniels died a death in the WTL, and i'm glad they're not there for these two shows. I really want these two shows to just showcase the best of ROH, and i feel the current selection of guys is a mighty fine representation of ROH.

Except Sydal of course, which seems odd that he's not there. Is he done with ROH? Because otherwise i don't understand this.

I could've also seen War Machine here too, but maybe NOAH has plans to bring them in again?

I guess RPG Vice and Bucks will be in too, but isn't in this announcement, because they're considered NJPW representatives? I certainly can't see these shows without Bucks on them.

If my source is correct, people will be VERY excited about a particular talent finally making his ROH debut.

Some people are going to get hurt, battered and bruised. If you get my drift.

He wouldn't exactly make his ROH debut, as that's like saying if he appeared at Fantastica Mania, he would make his CMLL debut.

These are still NJPW produced shows, where they put another promotion in the spotlight.

With that being said, yes the rumored match sounds amazing. Can't wait for the announcement.

The NJPW fans should love Dalton Castle. Hopefully he can use some of his more legit skills and not be just a comedy act.
Who's Rob Viper ?

Okay, I'll spill the beans.

Both nights will be headlined by Jay Lethal defending the ROH Title against Captain New Japan and Manabu Nakanishi.

And Nakanishi wins to fill in the role of veteran with foreign gold. Good times ahead.

A poster for the show was added in the "match information" section of NJPW's website. The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega are featured on the poster, so it looks like they'll definitely be on these two shows.
