Finally watched SSS16. I hope the site gets the Day 3 review up soon because more people need to watch the final match. Hell, all three tournament matches on Day 3 are fucking fantastic.

Day 1 gets a lotta hate in what little talk I can find about it, but I thought Brookes/Dragunov was really good (and I'm not really a fan of either) and I thought O'Reilly/Ridgeway was a KILLER match. Reminded me how much I like KOR and made me want to see more Ridgeway.

The show this Sunday only just sold out this past weekend, probably the coldest Ballroom show on record, though it's the same weekend as EVE's Wrestle Queendom show, as well as the Red Sox/Yankees series in London and the Glastonbury Festival that a lot of fans will be going to. The card isn't the most inspiring...

David Starr & The OJMO vs. Ringkampf (WALTER & Veit Müller)
Jordan Devlin vs. Brent Banks
LAX (Ortiz & Santana) vs. Dan Moloney & Trent Seven
Connor Mills vs. Paul Robinson
Candy Floss vs. Lana Austin
Rickey Shane Page vs. NIWA
PLUS: The 198 (Morgan Webster & Wild Boar) appear for the first time since stealing Aussie Open's Tag Team Titles

Lmao. I came to this thread to ask if you guys thought I might be able to jump back into PROGRESS, as a fan of its heyday, with the heavy focus on storytelling and characters (with some great in-ring but not necessarily my main focus these days - I want stories paid off, in good matches, don't have to be great).

Guess this post answers my question. I'll just keep watching AEW then..

The card for next weekend (still not sold out with seven days to go) illustrates how little there is going on with just a couple of months to go until the big Alexandra Palace show. There's no WALTER or David Starr (think WALTER is in Belfast with OTT, Starr is doing Beyond's Americanrana), and there's no headline feuds on the undercard. Hoping the mystery opponents for Aussie Open kickstart their program for that show.

PROGRESS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) (c) vs. TBA
CCK (Chris Brookes & Jonathan Gresham) vs. South Pacific Power Trip (NIWA & TK Cooper)
The OJMO vs. Shigehiro Irie
Lucky Kid vs. Paul Robinson
FOUR WAY MATCH: Dani Luna vs. Gisele Shaw vs. Jody Threat vs. Yuu
Rickey Shane Page vs. Travis Banks
The N.I.C. (Charlie Carter & Oisin Delaney) vs. Do Not Resuscitate (Spike Trivet & William Eaver)

Tomorrow is the first show since Alexandra Palace which had a lot of changes on top - just six matches announced, but Eddie Dennis is advertised to appear, so something will likely spring out of that. Chapter 96 in Manchester has the following...

PROGRESS PROTEUS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Paul Robinson (c) vs. Travis Banks (Knockout or Submission only, you are disqualified if you use the belt as a weapon)
PROGRESS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Jordan Devlin & Scotty Davis (c) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)
Toni Storm vs. Dani Luna
Cara Noir vs. Ilja Dragunov
Pretty Deadly (Lewis Howley & Sam Stoker) vs. The Young Guns (Ethan Allen & Luke Jacobs)
Roy Johnson vs. TK Cooper
