Pro Wrestling Zero1

Read into this however you like, but this was the last promotion I thought of. Even after K-Dojo.

Post about it here.

That's so appropo. I prefer Zero1 over K-DOJO almost immeasurably, but 99% of Zero1 really is totally forgettable.

From what I understand the Sekimoto/Kohei Sato vs. Dangan Yankees match from June 7th didn't make tape, so Z1 is not on my good side. If it wasn't for Tanaka/Shingo from earlier this year I would find them completely irrelevant.

hey now lads, we probably will only see 5% of it make tape but that Tenkaichi Junior Tourney field is pretty damn awesome!

Of all the shit they tape THIS MATCH somehow missed the cut.

Always a personal favorite seeing the extremely serious even by Puroresu standards Zero-1 bust out the old Dragon Balls. But they also have Madoka, a member of my all time underrated team doing this "Wild Cat" gimmick which is both strange and unappealing to me. But yeah if some stuff makes tape it could be pretty rad. Fire Festival too.

I know most of the puro-viewing world will be focused on the G1, but I can't be the only one hyped for Fire Festival, right? The lineup looks pretty good:

A BLOCK
- Kohei Sato
- Masato Tanaka
- Yusaku Obata
- KAMIKAZE
- Masadoka
- Fujita "Jr." Hayato

B BLOCK
- Shinjiro Otani
- Hideki Suzuki
- Ryoji Sai
- TARU
- Daisuke Sekimoto
- James Raideen

A Block looks a lot of fun, but I can't say I'm really interested in any match-up from B block apart from maybe Sekimoto-Otani.

Zero-1 is one of those sleeper promotions in Japan. There roster is a bit bleak compared to years past and their business isn't the best. But their shows are always entertaining and a lot of sleeper matches sneak out of there. The Fire Festival is sure to deliver this year.

Tanaka went over Hayato Jr. Now that's a match I want to watch.

Edit with results from Day 1 of the Fire Festival:
Sai over Taru
KAMIKAZE over Obata
Tanaka over Hayato
Raideen over Otani
Kohei over Masadoka

Junior tournament Final:
Ikuto Hidaka over Isami Kodaka

Day 1 of the Fire Festival is up on Real Hero's Veoh account. Only checked out the Tanaka vs Hayato match so far and the sound is sadly majorly out of sync
