Imagine a Sanada/Evil team going to war against Tanahashi/Elgin ? Gedo could also do the old, "be his partner one day and the next be his opponent". That happened all the time in AJPW it seemed.
It's especially perplexing seeing as how Gedo himself was a tag-team guy.

NJPW in the 90's featured a lot of main event talent going after those titles when I assume they didn't have much going on. Putting Tanahashi, Elgin, or Naito in the title scene would be a nice, big jolt for that division during down time and still keep them in a high spot.

They announced the dates for BoSJ this year. Dates are 5/17-5/18, 5/20-5/23, 5/25-29, 5/31, 6/1, & 6/3.

The tournament starts with two Korakuen shows, and another two throughout the tourney for a title of four times in that venue. The finals are in Tokyo's Yoyogi Second Gym which holds around 3,000. Pretty much a guaranteed sellout depending on the Final.

Honma got injured on a Okinawa show due to the botched DDT from Jado, he had to be stretchered out. This is...not looking good. Let's hope it's not very serious, but I have a feeling he will miss some time.

I'm hoping he's ok. I have grown to really enjoy Honma recently and would suck if this is something serious.

I'm wondering if the end up just having Makabe as his replacement in the tournament. I'm kinda hoping for Kojima tho.

Just heard about Honma getting hurt. Hopefully he'll be okay. Fucking awful stuff.

Lion's Gate returning is great news, I love those shows. They always produce one or two really cool matches. I regret not writing a Lion's Gate essay for the book this year.

Absolutely gutting news about Honma, as with Yoshino in Dragon Gate- the main thing is to hope that he gets back to full health before even considering getting back into the ring.

As for his New Japan Cup replacement (as he won't be recovered in time for that) I'm hoping they give his slot to Davey Boy Smith Jr- who I actually feel was a little unlucky not to make the cut. Also as much as putting a Kojima or Nagata in there to fill the hole, I kind of liked that they made the concious decision not to include any of the 'New Japan Dads' this year and go for a more youthful field.
