Classic Michinoku Pro

Post by Alan4L » Thu Aug 13, 2015 12:36 am

Got request from Rob and Oli for some classic M-Pro recommendations after talking it up on the DKP.

First off I'd be remiss if I didn't suggest this show I did with Dean Knickerbocker on this very subject:
http://www.f4wonline.com/component/cont ... ng-machine

Did that around the time of my FSM piece on M-Pro which is one of my favourite things I've ever written (maybe my absolute favourite).

So here's some matches floating aroung:

Delfin, Shinzaki & Naniwa vs Sasuke, Sato & Shiryu, MPro 2/4/94. - Their Tokyo debut several months after picking up some serious buzz in NorthEast Japan. Korakuen eats this up!

Alan is going to ruin my academic career with this thread. I've been wanting to dive into MPro for a little while now and now there's no excuse for me not to. Might as well dropout of school so it doesn't hold me back from watching my fair share of Dick Motherfucking Togo.

For a moment I thought Ozzy Michifan had joined us, when I see MPW I just assume its him. So I have a question, whats the deal with Delfin? Is he a big star or just big with smaller promotions?

I'm only a whisper away, doing god's work and glad to hear of the close mental association.

Delfin is a weird one, he always seems to want to move on and restart from ULL to M-Pro to O-Pro to.... Other O-Pro (Okinawa) to roaming about / Dotonbori to Seafood Pro Wrestling. Every time obscuring himself and generally getting smaller and smaller.

He'll always have that BoSJ finals match against Liger, with his iconic mind games attire, one month after the buzz if the original Super J Cup.

He really isn't a big star, but he was around in a time when everyone felt like one and has continued to be around, with an iconic look and large presence in the independant scene as a champion, founder, president and top tier talent of companies, a tremendous dickhead heel who has the talent to back it all up in the ring. I think he might be a guy who always carried himself like a big star and can rise to the occasion.

Short answer, big fish in a small pond who loves community wrestling projects.

Speaking of which, I just finished creating an MV heavily featuring Delfin in Michinoku Pro, which everyone has probably already seen me spamming everywhere, but here you go, it's some great stuff:

Anyone else having trouble getting these videos to download/play? I haven't been able to download any of them and I've been trying once or twice a day since this thing was posted :(

Well this certainly brings back memories of a (thankfully) long gone era.

Downloads & torrents were the bane of my existence. I'm super patient with some things in life, but have a very short fuse with others. Turning around in 2010 to see that some Tokyo Gurentai produce show is only at 9% after a half day of downloading is one of those things.

I remember when ditch used to host the actual videos on his sites. I was pretty bummed when he basically went to all megaupload. I even donated 60 dollars hoping he would go back.

I've been using Google Chrome. Wonder if it's something with the ISP blocking Mediafire. I'll try on a different browser when I get home and see what happens. Thanks!

I tested most before posting and they were fine.

Not sure if it's a regional thing but mediafire works GREAT for me. I love it.
