FWIW, Arez (AAA) debuted 8 years ago. He's had short stints with Perros Del Mal and is a long-stay in XMW & PROLLM. He does float around with Belial, so he's getting a bit of traction this year, but I'm not sure if he really counts as a debut. One AAA match and nothing since? I stand to be corrected on that.

Gunner Miller of Scenic City Invitational fame is arguable. He's been in the business for a little over a year, but tat was the first high profile show he worked that wasn't an exclusive Empire event, and the only one that was available via an international distribution platform.

Thunder Rosa's a good shout, she debuted around a year ago, and made a very good impact in STARDOM.

Added Chris Melendez & Kevin Condron to the "questionable" section.

Melendez had two TNA matches in August 2014, but neither AIRED until after September. Thankfully he isn't a serious threat to win because that would be a pain in the ass to judge.

Condron worked as Kid Cyclone for a few months before the cutoff, including in the Chikara system for Wrestling Is.

I kinda want to vote Dana Brooke as my number 3 behind Chad Gable and Jay White.

Don't forget to add my boy Yoshihisa Uto, he's last remaining BJW 2015 graduate. Don't think he'd win but its good to include everyone.

Kazusada Higuchi already won this award back during King of DDT in my book. Chad Gable and Shunma Katsumata are second and third respectively. The New Japan boys have wrestled for a couple of years I believe so I wouldn't vote for them.

Thanks.

Larry, that 2/5 DNA match will sell you on both guys. Higuchi is drawing comparisons to young Tenryu, and it isn't even crazy. You'll dig him. And keep in mind that he was like WEEKS in at that point.

DDT is churning out tons of talent on these DNA shows.
Late to the party...but he's very good.

I'm still just very limited in how much I've seen of the guy...can't put him ahead of DFJr...Chad Gable moved ahead of Jay White for me (however, I'm very much influenced by his stuff in the past few weeks where he's looked insanely great)...so that puts Higuchi right in this wheelhouse with Jay White.

Very good year for rooks.

I'm still working my way through the shows but Higuchi might have had Nakajima's best match this year. All in on the DNA train and all in on Higuchi for rookie of the year.

1. Kaz Higuchi
2. Chad Gable
3. Jay White

I'll put Finlay in there if he gets a tat removal or starts wrestling in back covering gear, until then I have to take a stand. (I actually kinda like White better anyway but getting that done shows the dedication I want as a rookie)
