Gabe should bring in Chase Owens to face Kincaid. If they have their regular touring match, they'll both get over instantly.

DGUSA has three pretty definable eras.

The early "premium product" era, where DG fly ins were frequent, the CHIKARA working agreement, focused 6 match shows, dream matches with guys like Davey & Danielson, and good, simple booking. This felt different than anything else happening at the time and are fun shows to go back to watch, even today.

Then you had the Gargano/Ricochet/Swann/AR Fox flippy dude era, with less of an emphasis on the DG stars (mostly just Tozawa & CIMA, with random appearances by whoever else CIMA talked into going), the rise of Gargano, etc. The shows were a bit more bloated than at the beginning, and it was starting to drift away from being a DG extension/sister promotion during this time, but it's mostly really good stuff.

The third era is when the wheels came off, and there was essentially no difference between DGUSA & EVOLVE. DG guys stopped coming over cold, to the point that iirc they went something like a full year with one total DG fly in (a random, unannounced Yosuke Santa Maria appearance in NYC), poor booking by Gabe who admitted that he had lost focus/passion during this time, and a slow defection of talent. Most of these shows are lifeless, dull, and uninteresting, with the occasional killer match every now & then.

When/if wwn offers a sub service that opens up the entire archive, a full rewatch is totally doable and something I will definitely dive into.

Those early DGUSA supershows are pretty fantastic. Hell, OPEN THE HISTORIC GATE is still the best debut for a U.S. indy promotion of the last ten years. DGUSA basically began to dissolve after the UNITED triple header IMO.

I remember being blown away by the first DGUSA show I watched years after the dust had settled and it right up there classic All Japan with things I would love to go back and watch. Would kill for a Gabe/WWN network but my hope is often shat upon when I go to their website and see how backwards and out of date they are digitally.

Didn't Gabe promise a new rebranded website just after Mania weekend?

I am very much over DVDs at this point. But I thought this release was actually worth the purchase.

They cover Gargano's match from the first show.

With Drew Galloway out of the next EVOLVE shows, WWE have loaned Tommy End to them. He will wrestle two dark matches over the weekend.
