This week's show was probably one of my favorite tv shows this year from any brand/promotion.

The Breakout Tournament opener was a really good choice with regard to the highlighted wrestlers. I knew Wilde (DJZ) was good, but this was my intro to Angel Garza and he really impressed me immediately.

Street Profits/Forgotten Sons was perfect for what it was. Angelo Dawkins is probably my pick for Most Improved wrestler this year as it's finally clicked for him.

The Keith Lee squash was beautiful destruction. A great way to build him back up post injury.

Then, the main event. This was everything I'd want in a WWE cage match that Kofi/Dolph wasn't-clear hate, a sense of urgency and using the cage as a weapon. Even the finish was tremendous despite relying on the WWE cage tropes. The post match was done really well and left the door open for a lot of good stuff down the line.

A definite must watch this week.

Garza seemed to have a ton of charisma. If they can put all the pieces together and flesh out an actual character for him, he's got real potential. I wasn't so keen on Wilde as a babyface, I get why he is, but I didn't come away with any real interest in what he does next in this role.

I really enjoyed how they built up Wilde to be that kind of, "I was broken down, hurt, and nowhere. Now this is my redemption" type of guy only to feed him to Garza in rd 1. I think Garza could be a big time heel in NXT. A shit heel with tons of talent, loved that he just out wrestled him and won clean.

Three Stages of Hell (though not explicitly called that) for Cole and Gargano in Toronto.

The pop for Dunne on tonight's NXT was one of the best I've heard all year.

Priest vs Keith Lee was SO GOOD. I wasn't sure what to expect from it, but goddamn, those guys had great chemistry.

Loved the undercard, hated the two main events for reasons I can't be arsed to elaborate on. With Takeover no longer a guaranteed gem, I now have no incentive as a wrestling fan to go to Tampa next spring.

Yeah, Shayna/Mia was the biggest disappointment of the weekend, and Cole/Gargano was what I'd like to call a Marmite match (you love it or you hate it, few inbetweens). Candice/Io was the best WWE match of the weekend over both shows.

Candace/Io ruled. What has Mia ever shown that would make people think she deserved that spot? She was the worst of any of the challengers Bazler has faced so far. Like has been said so many times, it was great while it lasted but I'm over Gargano/Cole. This was the least enjoyable of all the NXT main events in years.

Booking a guy too banged up to do house shows to go 47 minutes was an interesting decision.

I haven't been following the weekly TV - how's KUSHIDA doing?

He's on the scintillating Weekly ***1/2 Matches Against Random Guys treadmill. Because apparently this booking team would have an allergic reaction towards progressing him as any kind of actual character.

Like what about wrestler pay? Or will WWE offer their big renewal offers to any top stars on the brand if their deals are coming up soon? Also, would this be enough to make NXT talents want to remain in NXT? Can a move to NXT be a key to make disgruntled main roster talents happier? Would NXT on USA make any key free agents who are choosing between WWE or AEW more interested in going with WWE?
