UE V War Machine - ****1/4
Riddle v Ohno - ***
Gargano v Ricochet - ****1/2
Bazler v Belair - ***1/4
Ciampa v Black - ****1/2

Looks like im the high man on the Main Event but i loved it. I guess its how much you enjoy the whole Gargano v Ciampa story but for me this has been fantastic booking and the best story line in NXT history. Anyone got any guesses on the Mania weekend card?

Undisputed Era (c) v. War Raiders - ****1/2
Matt Riddle v. Kassius Ohno - ***1/2
Ricochet (c) v. Johnny Gargano - ****3/4
Shayna Baszler (c) v. Bianca Belair - ***1/4
Tommaso Ciampa (c) v. Aleister Black - ****1/4

Once again, thought Takeover was a hit.

UE vs. War Raiders-4
Riddle vs. Ohno- 3 1/2
Ricochet vs. Gargano-4 1/2
Baszler vs. Belair-3
Ciampa vs. Black-4

The main event was clearly very polarizing though I can't see how you can't see it as a great match. What I can say is the top of the card needs to switch over. We're now going on year two with Gargano, Ciampa and Black as the primary top guys and to a lesser extent, Baszler and UE have been near the top just as long. I know they can't call all of them up, but it does seem like time to let the next 'class' emerge. Granted, this crew has been the best, if not better, than the original Takeover crew, but NXT is not the end destination and it's time to clear the decks.

Feel like all of this is going to culminate at Mania and youll see these guys getting called up little by little after Mania, but you're right.

To the criticisms involving Gargano, Ciampa, and whoever else they are bringing into the mix at the top (Black)...most fans have long waited for long, call-back oriented storytelling from WWE...and when they give it to you with Gargano-Ciampa it eventually has everyone turn on it.

idk what people were watching, but I have no idea how Ciampa v. Black could be so divisive. It was a very good match, IMO.

I've been able to get through the STORIEZ aspect of it because the matches have always delivered big.

Ciampa-Black and Dunne-Coffey getting a lot of kickback from fans...and I am not sure why...seems more like people just being contrarians for the sake of it.

I think its because there is a big subsect of wrestling twitter that hates Epic storytelling matches and specifically matches that seem to have HHH & HBK's fingerprints all over it

That and it didn't have any cool moves or looking like badasses :v

The whole "whodunit" angle turned a lot of people off of Gargano, Ciampa and Black. And yeah, it wasn't ideal, but when you get the level of matches these three have, I have a hard time working myself up about them.

It was a perfect end to what felt like the Network's ode to a BOLA weekend between the movez madness of this match and the Worlds Collide tournament.

I watched both the stream and the Network show and apart from a very good Tyler Bate/Cedric Alexander match, the stream is for completists only. The Network show was weird in that they showed a first round match after several quarterfinals ended and called the Devlin/Gulak quarterfinal the first quarterfinal. Some miscommunication in editing aside, the semis and the final were all verging on greatness, but fell just a little short. Bate and Velveteen Dream were the clear stars of the tournament. I'll be curious to see how many go back and watch either show.

Everyone should check out Gulak's appearance this week and in particular Gulak and Riddle.

A pretty great hour last night bookended with two matches definitely worth seeing. Gargano/Dream was pretty fantastic and Strong/Black was a fun sprint.

Spoilers for the next few weeks are interesting especially in the context of the NXT 4's usage this week.
