Re: 205 Live Thread
Aiden English sounds like he's voicing a muppet.
Re: 205 Live Thread
Nese/Murphy rematch was better than the Mania bout
Re: 205 Live Thread
Had it 4 flat. Nese has been sneakily good for years now and although I wouldn't have put him over as champion with many other options, he's definitely capable of putting on great matches. Not sure he has the needed charisma to push the title off the pre-show though.

Re: 205 Live Thread
Without question. Much better, IMO.
205 Live is going to be a treasure trove of hidden gems when we look back in 10 years.
So many matches hurt by the lack of crowd involvement. These same matches, match structures would kill in front of an even half interested Indie crowd or NXT crowd or whatever.
Nese v. Murphy II would have had an Indie crowd or NXT crowd going bonkers.

At the same time, they've loaned talent to their partner promotions, and in the case of Progress and especially Evolve, people mostly shit on it. So I dont know if I buy the idea that people want this. I think a lot of fans get annoyed when WWE butts their heads in their business.

Re: 205 Live Thread
That's because WWE is correctly perceived as placing their influence on those small-time feds. It has to be just like what Bischoff did with NJPW during the Nitro era, in which there was no ulterior motive, but a symbiotic relationship.Joe Lanza wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 12:10 amAt the same time, they've loaned talent to their partner promotions, and in the case of Progress and especially Evolve, people mostly shit on it. Re: 205 Live Thread
Ali, Cedric and Murphy all get promoted, so the next few weeks will be interesting in terms of who steps up and who comes in. Glad they gave Cedric a nice sendoff.

Re: 205 Live Thread
I'll say this...this has turned into another little developmental system for Hs to get guys main roster ready.
Lucha House Party
Mustafa Ali
Cedric Alexander
Buddy Murphy
Lio Rush
Drake Maverick
Would repurpose some main roster talent and put them in 205 Live...guys like Tyler Breeze, Chad Gable, Sin Cara would be good fits and give them nice singles runs. Would get some NXT developmental types and get them on there now, too. Raul Mendoza and Aichner come to mind. Might even be time to get Tyler Bate to a different stage.

Re: 205 Live Thread
I was thinking him too. Whomever you build next, he's a solid placeholder champion

Re: 205 Live Thread
I’d give him a HHH 2003 reign of terror actually. Get some talent with ceilings beyond this show to surround him.

Re: 205 Live Thread
With the BOSJ participants just announced, what's the top direction on this juniors show?
Tony Nese vs. Ariya Daivari.
Fuck off, cunts.

Re: 205 Live Thread
I highly recommend that everyone checks out Gallagher/Gable from last week and Gulak/Swerve from this week. 205 continues to put on at least one must see match a week, and these two are some of the best they've had.
Re: 205 Live Thread
This week's whole show is worth a watch. Both the opener and the main border on 4 star territory. I hope what we are seeing between here and NXT regarding letting people from different brands float between brands continues or even better, once someone shows something on a new brand, they let them stay and build around them. 205 with Gable and Swerve would be a much deeper roster.John The Drummer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 2:55 pmI highly recommend that everyone checks out Gallagher/Gable from last week and Gulak/Swerve from this week. 205 continues to put on at least one must see match a week, and these two are some of the best they've had.
