Impact Wrestling (Discussion)

Post by Joe Lanza » Thu Mar 02, 2017 4:41 am

Anthem/JJ appears to be following the model of business partner NOAH the REBORN, shedding expensive, established stars who weren't moving the needle anyway (or moving it backwards) with Jarrett digging deep into his GFW connections to give mid & low level indie names a shot. We've seen this work for NOAH, where guys like Hi69, YO-HEY, HAYATA, Rionne Fujiwara, Tadasuke, etc have worked out nicely.

OUT
Matt Hardy
Jeff Hardy
Reby Hardy
Mike Bennett
Maria
Drew Galloway
Jade
Brooke Tessmacher

IN
Fallah Bah
Kevin Matthews
Magnus
Matt Morgan (rumored)
Jack Swagger (rumored)
Mario Bokara
Kongo Kong
Garza Jr
Laredo Kid
Alberto Del Rio El Patron
ODB
Reno SCUM
Rachael Ellering
KC Quinn (apparently this is a local Florida wrestler with a new name)
LAX (Konnan, Homicide, Angel Rose, EYFBO)
"Suicide" (could be anyone)
Idris Abraham
MJ Jenkins
Jake Holmes (Jake Something)
Diamante
Chris Masters

Impact tapings are 3/2. I expect this thread to be HOT with rumors. Go.

Interested in TNA as much as the original move off Spike, when they had those high quality NYC shows. And I like their direction. Jade and Galloway will be missed by me, at least. They were really good wrestlers and welcome champions. I would have built the entire company around Galloway, but that's me. Bennett and Maria were a waste of money, no matter what they paid. They suck, they're boring, Bennett is laughably bad, and Maria was the only good part of the act, and even then she was reaching Stephanie McMahon levels of taking up TV time. As for what they're doing now, I'm both excited and nervous. Bringing in lower rung indie stars like Matthews and Fallah Bah is smart, but on the flip side, I don't think Magnus, Matt Morgan, or fucking Jack Swagger are smart investments. And the absolute LAST thing TNA needs is people like Bruce Prichard, or, god help us, Karen Jarrett taking up TV time. It's a small start, but it shows some promise, but it can easily become another LOLTNA blunder.

I mean this is no shock, but still interesting to read. Any rumblings about anybody being approached and turning down TNA?

Laredo Kid and Garza Jr. start on these tapings, via the tie up with The Crash.

That's good news for the X Division. But who's going to find Laredo when he wanders off in Orlando.

Kongo Kong & Mario Bokara were announced last night.

Bokara is another PWS/Wrestle Pro guy.

So...should I give TNA another shot?

Big fan of IMPACT the REBORN as a mock promotion title.
