Alex Shelley is another guy they know won't leave so they'll push him. This is the major conundrum facing them. Much like the NBA in the player empowerment/movement era you can't think like that. You gotta strike when the iron is hot with what you have, not what you can keep. Shelly comes off as slightly above "good hand". He's a tag specialist, not a true top guy. Does anyone have any info on total honor club subs? Does it even crack 1,000?

Really really really great stream tonight. Can't say show since the first hour was dark and results don't read promising but what was actually shown was tremendous. Should go out of your way to watch main event & 3 way for belt.

Has ROH got around to uploading shows from the Gabe era to Honor Club yet?

From last I saw there were some but not in any way a complete collection. A few shows per year. I'll make sure Sean Sedor sees this and can respond. Thanks!

The first 10 shows from 2002 are there under the "Year One" in the VOD Vault. They also have a couple of the DVD compilations up with a few highlight Gabe era stuff. The pickings are sadly slim.

What's funny about the whole "Honor Club/ROH library" thing is that, while there weren't a ton of Gabe-era shows on the ROH website prior to Honor Club (this was when you could sign up to be a "Ringside Member"), there were more on the site prior to the launch of Honor Club. Granted, it was far from the complete collection, and most of the shows that were on the site were your B-Level and C-Level ROH live events from the Gabe-era (think shows like Weekend Of Champions: Night 2, the Race To The Top Tournament, etc.). I think the best show they had uploaded was Final Battle 2005, but that was pretty much it in terms of major shows from the Gabe-era.

That being said, there is some classic content on Honor Club. If you want to watch VERY early ROH, they do have every show from 2002 except for the last two of the year (Night Of The Butcher and Final Battle 2002). That's pretty much it in terms of classic shows in full. They also do have some of their compilation DVD's uploaded, but those are specific matches from a particular person's run instead of full shows. I guess the best out of that bunch would be the Bryan Danielson: World Champion compilation which, as the title suggests, covers most of Bryan's title run.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was a big fan from 2005 to 2008 so I was hoping that ROH would have some shows from that era uploaded, but the Dragon title run compilation will have some of my favourite ROH matches ever so that's at least something. I may sign up for a month the next time ROH runs an interesting show

You can find a decent amount of matches from the Gabe era on this playlist. It's mixed in with post-Gabe stuff, so it's not perfect, but it's something:

Strong agree with Rob. The 3 main matches were a blast. The 3 way was one of the most logical 3 way dances I've seen. All the pin break-ups made sense, there wasn't a ton of dude chilling outside for 3 min while the other two fight. The 3 match string was a nice little oasis in the depressing wrestling desert that is ROH in 2019.

Briscoes vs Dragon Lee and Rush from this week's ROH tv is worth going out of your way to see. This company is a total sadness factory now, but there are some small oasis of dope shit.

Changing the branding of the next tour, which has barely sold any tickets, to "Global Wars" and adding CMLL talent is the first sign that they are actively being proactive in attempting to stop the bleeding.

Obviously, that's a good thing, but unless they stop relying on their safe wrestlers up top, they'll remain on the hamster wheel. I mean, I think he's criminally underrated, but do we really need Alex Shelley as a world title contender in 2019? He had world title matches in 2005 and 2006. That was almost a decade and a half ago!

Not to mention usually the Global Wars tour features New Japan talent. And this comes right after NJPW was advertised as part of the Toronto show but the only reps are G.O.D. which doesn't seem right.

Okumura will turn things around for ROH.

This might be a hot take, but I genuinely think Alex Shelly peaked as an attraction in MCMG. Time Splitters was great, but Kushida was the star of the team.

Shelley in 2019 for ROH is like WWE resigning Jinder Mahal at the time of the brand split in 2017. An 'okay, sure' signing, but not a main eventer.

It's unfortunate they added the CMLL people after the tour was booked. Would be smarter for them to go to lucha hotbed cities w/ the CMLL talent.
