WWE Smackdown Live

Post by Garuda » Wed Jul 20, 2016 1:38 am

The main draft is done and the supplemental begins shortly. How are people feeling on it? The main list is:

Dean Ambrose
AJ Styles
John Cena
Randy Orton
Bray Wyatt
Becky Lynch
The Miz w/ Maryse
Baron Corbin
American Alpha (Chad Gable & Jason Jordan)
Dolph Ziggler
Natalya
Alberto Del Rio

The IC and WWE Championship are on SD.

Guess we were wrong when we thought SD was going to be the hardcore favorite "workrate" show

Yeah did we work ourselves into a shoot there or was that a reasonable expectation?

I won't lie, I had (too many) hopes for the new SD but this roster is mostly fat.

EDIT: Also, RAW is getting the Cruiserweights.

Is tonight's show worth going out of your way to see or is the list enough? I don't think WWE championship will stay onSD at all. I think Reigns is winning it on Battleground. They have their own championship with guys like Styles, Orton, Cena and Ambrose vying for it.

Enzo/Cass. New Day. The Club. All on Raw.

Draft AA to Smackdown to feud with? At best, Vaudvillans, Breeze/Fandango?

Jesus. Smackdown is worthless. I feel bad for AJ.

The list would be enough.

This Smackdown roster is worse than the TNA roster when AJ left.

Imagine Daniel Bryan passing over Cesaro, Zayn, Owens, and Balor for Del Rio, Corbin, Miz, and 2016 Ziggler.

I know if I'm drafting Smackdown, I also would draft Mojo Rawley over Nakamura and Samoa Joe.

Let's just imagine that Regal convinced Bryan and Mick to agree to a "no draft clause" to certain NXT talents

Final Smackdown draft results:

Men's Singles
Dean Ambrose (WWE Champ)
The Miz w/ Maryse (IC Champ)
A.J. Styles
John Cena
Randy Orton
Bray Wyatt
Baron Corbin
Dolph Ziggler
Alberto Del Rio
Kane
Kalisto
Zack Ryder
Apollo Crews
Erick Rowan
Mojo Rawley

Women
Becky Lynch
Natalya
Naomi
Alexa Bliss
Eva Marie
Carmella

Tag Teams
American Alpha
The Uso Brothers
The Ascension
Breezeango
The Vaudevillans

You know, I will say that the supplemental draft has some good stuff in it. Kalisto, Crews, Bliss, and maybe Ryder and Breezango (I think they're talented separately).

The deep sighs are Kane, The Ascension, Carmella, Rawley, and Eva Marie.

I don't think it's too dramatic to be really disappointed with this lineup, though. Larger then that the Draft was very generic and obligatory, and the WWE didn't tip their hand that they really cared about any of these changes. Very lifeless.

REALLY look at these divisions individually and imagine the scene. The tag division isn't so bad, but the women and men both have a tiny amount of great talent resting upon an ocean of mediocrity. What is this midcard going to look like?

The men's division is no doubt weaker than Raw's, but to me, the key here could be seeing AJ emerge as champion along with guys like Kalisto and Crews getting more of a chance to shine. I'm not sure if the depth is quite enough, but hopefully, additional callups and maybe some of those former talents to be added will strengthen that part of the equation.

I actually like the women's and tag divisions here better than Raw. The Women's division in particular is definitely better and I feel like Breezeango and the Vaudevillians will get a better chance to thrive now as well.

Thought it was strong show (except for the baffling Kane segment), felt different and important.

AJ Styles and Balor were drafted ahead of Cena, Roman, and Brock.

But yeah, keep bitching about them wearing red and blue t shirts. wrestling fans are the worst sometimes (most times)

There's already an interbrand match scheduled for Summerslam. How they gonna do that build?

One of those guys won't even be on the weekly show anyway, so it's fine
