I think that Summerslam is going to be Roman vs Brock II and then Mania will be the final rubber match between them.

I would actually not be surprised by Cornette being there and/or getting back in bed on sporadic occasions with Vince. Of all the promotions he's buried in the past, he's always been the most diplomatic/least venomous with Vince. Not sure if it's begrudging respect or knowledge that some bridges are best left unburnt.

On a semi-related topic, in the midst of watching Bash '89 and came to the Heyman/Cornette tuxedo match and made me wonder about the state of Heyman today in the WWE. I think most agree that his act is not as hot as it was in '13/'14 and I can think of several nonexclusive reasons for that:

1) The act hasn't deviated much from how it started and the law of diminishing returns is inevitable;
2) Having only Brock to work with his reduced the variety of what he says; and/or
3) The amount of entertaining talkers has increased significantly since he first came back.

Strong lack of visceral consistency from Heyman in the past year overall. He very clearly has dropped his verbal workrate to ***-***1/2 level after blasting all-time MOTYC style promos against Punk, Taker, and Reigns.

Neither guy has benefited from running in place for two years but Lesnar big footing over the entire roster hit it's expiration date a while back.
Takeovers, WWE24, and PPVs are consistently great to good, even with booking issues. CWC and U.K. Tourney were outstanding.

I couldn't imagine canceling the network

My review & stars for matches that I thought were *** or greater this week:

NXT Championship: Kassius Ohno v. Bobby Roode © (NXT 03/15/17)
This is a great match. Roode’s work on top is decent, but it’s his heeling and his selling that really make his performance shine in this match. He does an excellent job of cutting off Ohno’s comebacks and his possum-style selling was aces. Ohno is fantastic, as well. Just an awesome, well-rounded babyface performance. Snowflakes: ****

Five-Way Elimination/#1 Contender's Match: Austin Aries v. Akira Tozawa v. Tony Nese v. TJ Perkins v. The Brian Kendrick (205 Live 03/14/17)
This was a decent multi-man match. Solid action, solid pace, cool spots. Snowflakes: ***¼

Kevin Owens v. Brock Lesnar (MSG 03/12/17)
I’m sure the consensus is that this is yet another conventional Lesnar squash, but I thought this was quite good for a match constrained by the limitations of Lesnar’s formula. Owens, in particular, elevates the hell outta this match and brings a much needed sense of urgency that’s been lacking in Lesnar’s matches as of late. He also bumps hellaciously for Brock, so that’s fun, too. This is only about three minutes long so it’s worth the watch for the spectacle alone. (Please, WWE, give us a competitive version of this match!) Snowflakes: ***

Fantasy booking after consulting with Hawkins:

Cornette returns as American Alpha's manager in Orlando.

Then two weeks later in Louisville, tennis racket to Gable and Jordan. Cornette says it's time for the SDL tag team division to be REVIVED.

The company announced a 7/9 Raw PPV, Bad Blood for the XL Center in Hartford, which would be the first PPV in the city in 17 years.
