Honestly I would rather it be killed because its a dumb gimmick where Finn does nothing different except get painted up and wear a stupid headdress. Glad SD is going to show why its once again the A Show tomorrow (because its only 2 hrs and usually well paced)

Shame Sami isn't doing anything at Summerslam unless they do a 1# contender battle royale to get a lot of talent on screen.

The Demon is so corny anyways. I hope they really did kill it.

I love the idea of a wrestler getting hype with the war paint for special matches. Its cool, to me. But...its for special moments. Mania. Big title matches. Not for random RAWs.

Hyperbole in here. Corpus Christi is notorious for lacking crowd heat and yet popped big for the Demon gimmick. Vince is feeling like he's on Viagra now seeing a more casual market will buy up Balor merch, especially with the hardcores already on board prior to last month.

Rusev vs. Reigns tonight was the same as Alberto vs. Christian 3 years ago. Firmly solidify the challenger's case for the PPV shot, and since the PPV will be crammed, have the longer match on cable beforehand. I suspect this may happen again next spring prior to WM33, which will be crammed with more part-timers and likely NXT graduates.

Corpus Christi should've got this tag instead of Rusev and Reigns. It makes Finn more of a main event player in the casual fan eyes and hammers home that Balor vs Rollins is the main event program on Raw.

They did Reigns/Rusev so that when Reigns loses on Sunday it doesn't look as bad. No other reason to do that match. If Roman was winning clean on Sunday why have him win clean on Monday? If it was gonna be a DQ or count out there's really no need to have him win clean on Monday. My guess is Lana gets her revenge and spikes Reigns in the eye with a shoe or something and Rusev wins. Or Reigns passes out on the accolade. Or some combination.

This way they can neatly have Reigns face the winner of Balor/Rollins at the next PPV without having the US Title on him.

After thinking about it, I don't buy the excuse that the Raw audience needed to see the "Demon King" live prior to Summerslam. Videos and cryptic promos would have been just fine. And if Seth played up the intimidation factor without the full attire, it would have worked.

Is it just me, or do big entrances come across better at Full Sail compared to the standard NBA sized arena? At Full Sail, everything is on top of you, just with a crowd of hundreds, so it seems bigger. And on the main roster, despite everything being literately bigger, I don't get the same feeling, WM being the obvious exception.

I thought Balor's entrance at Barclays was great last year. If the wrestler is over with the crowd, the entrance is over. Cass & Enzo's was shaky at Roadblock cause half of the crowd didn't know who they were. Now, they're over.

It's just that last night, the crowd wasn't good and Balor is still new to them.

I think you could make it work in a big arena. It worked in Brooklyn last year and most arenas are around that size. I just don't think they went all out last night though the reaction was fairly decent.

I was fine with the introduction itself, but could have done without hearing the term "Demon King" 75 million times. We get it. No need to say it repeatedly.

I liked Punk until he left and would certainly enjoy it if he ever returned.

But given his general douchey persona recently, this tweet gives me no small amount of joy

Watched Raw half arsed as it's three hours long and has already settled down into a monotonous show. I must have missed something at the beginning of the show the show as I was confused for a very long time as to why Seth is demanding to see 'The Demon Kane'. Since when did Neville have a notable match with Kane? Isn't Kane on Smackdown? Why is Kane so important all of a sudden?

I came to the conclusion after this show that I am tapping out on Raw. I will go back to blasting through it in under and hour until the Cruiserweights debut.

I stopped watching Raw almost a year ago. The post-Summerslam episode with Sting and Dudleyz returning was the last time I watched it in its entirety. I will watch a part of it from time to time, but for me the best way to stay hyped for WWE PPV's (which is usually very hard tbf) is just not to watch Raw or Smackdown.

Summerslam looks great on paper, could very well be the best WWE show in ages and one of the best shows of the year.

The Demon King is so close to The Demon Kane. Did no one in the writing room catch this? This is a character they were using less than 2 months ago.

He DID bust his ass for a decade and a half to reach his status. This is the same house of cards argument against those who bitched about Warrior taking a different path to WWE and the main event scene.

Totally different situation. Warrior worked his way up from the territories to the opening matches in WWE to finally the main event. He wasn't made the focus of anything day one.

UFC is not WWE and it is a completely different sport and company. Punk is coming in 0-0 and yet being given a reality show and a spot on a pay-per-view. Very ironic given his past bitching about others.
