Real good show. Loved the Nurse run in and all the segments were well done.

But, Joe, bashing Kylie Rae? I could see thinking there's no substance to someone like Xia Brookside, but Kylie is so much more than smiles.

Also backing Kylie. My favorite moments of hers is when she drops the smile and plays a subtle heel, which I’ve seen a few times down here in Texas. Adds a lot of depth to her character.

As for the flagship, it’s just a shame that first 15 minutes didn’t go right into a Dollar Shave Club read

Good show, pube talk aside.

It's just astounding to me there are so many people trying to quit WWE or trying to get fired. The Lio Rush story has a lot of wrinkles and for sure he could improve his attitude and not take certain things as a personal slight, but the statement about being broke making towns was a shocker. Of course the all-knowing wredditors will jump to what he's spending his money on (hey guys, maybe those gold chains aren't actually made of gold? he may be dumb but he's not rocking 100k jewellery, I don't think), but to me it's about how much of those WWE contracts are eaten up by the expenses of the job itself.

I know us Euros are always wowed by American salaries, not understanding what things are deducted from your guys' salaries by necessities of lifestyle, like health insurance, 401k etc, but if Lio Rush is not exaggerating, the whole thing is just so damning and sad. It's also a part of a bigger trend about guys speaking out about the lack of fair pay. I remember even as far back as 2015 maybe ADR talking about how house show pay was down, making less than a thousand per house show (I don't remember the exact figure). Then Punk aired his thoughts on trying to find out how Network affected pay and nobody would open up about that.

It's just sad that this is the dream and yet this is the reality of it. Like each of these guys tells a different aspect of the sadness. Lio Rush highlights the unfairness of pay, even if the pay is all-in-all large, Luke Harper the limits of what you can affect when your fate is in the company's hands, Sasha, The Revival and Moxley the frustration of not being utilized or being able to work to your own creative satisfaction.

Anyway, on a positive note I was one of those people who really loved Ambrose in like 2014-2015 and am excited to see what he does as Moxley, whatever it is. The scene has completely changed while he was hired by WWE and while he spoke pretty negatively of the indies back in the day, I could see him embrace the state of them currently. He's not going to give us 5 star workrate style matches but he will provide a lot of needed character stuff and excellent promo work. Can we get a Jimmy Havoc vs Moxley feud going? Thanks.

Heard from someone after they listened to the show that doesnt work for WWE, but has a bunch of friends in the company at the level of Lio Rush. Fwiw, he thinks Rush is full of shit and exaggerating his financial woes.

I catch the pods on PocketCast. The pod keeps cutting off at 1h8m and deleting (means it ended). Downloaded and streamed. Same thing.

Anyone else use PocketCast and experiencing this?
Anyone using another pod catcher and experiencing this?

on topic...

pubes? gotta keep it tight. We ain't animals, fellas. Humans invented agriculture, factories, and the internet...the least we can do for the sake of progress is restrict the amount of unnecessary body hair.

Loved the more indepth AJPW talk than usual. I think this year's CC really hit on the highs and lows of the company. They have a super thin roster, but manage to get awesome programs and matches out of it. They have really puzzling strategies when it comes to foreign talent but even the lesser workers like Dylan James and Valletta sort of fit in with the identity of the promotion. They bring in guys from all over puro but for every Okabayashi there's a Cyber Kong or Daichi Hashimoto.

The thin roster has definitely been a big reason for the injuries too. They have a lot of older talent who get hurt, and then refuse to stop working. We saw this with Suwama two years ago, it happened with Ishikawa last year, and you have normally great workers just going half speed trying to survive. I don't really think there's an easy solution to it either. Even beyond Nomura and Lee, you really need another class of young talent to come through and replenish the company.

I'm sort of dubious about this all working out. I'm all for having old ass heavyweights kill each other, but if they want to survive beyond the next 5 years there needs to be an overhaul in the business and booking strategies.

So AudioBoom had some weird thing where when I uploaded the show initially, it was some weird cut-off version of it. I deleted and re-upped it but I guess some people are still getting the old version? I know most other apps auto-updated no clue what PocketCast is doing though or why they'd keep delivering you the old file.

I had listened to the show via this thread...went back and just checked it...and I guess it finally updated. Was very weird. Tried it four times on PocketCast and it was doing the same thing.

All of these stories being leaked by talent by the WWE really just continue to stress that these people need a union. I'm not even a union guy, but its pretty clear they need something that can help them advocate for some workers rights, because they have none. As Lanza mentioned, Vince really holds on to the aspects of carney Wrasslin as he sees fit...the idea of extremely restricted independent contractors that basically pay their own way to work is about as archaic as humanly possible. Some PT Barnum nonsense, that truly needs to be tested in a court of law.

Creatively, we can all just say it...its Vince. Main roster stinks because Vince oversees it all. I can watch NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live...and while they are varying degrees of TV ranging from incredible to pretty boring...there is a dramatic, distinct difference between the sub brands and the main roster in terms of quality and storytelling. I would wager that not a single person on the roster outside of Kofi Kingston and Becky Lynch feel creatively satisfied. Wrestlers are performers and entertainers...the old guard were businessmen carney hustlers...new talent grew up fans and want to create legacies and great art. Yeah, Tom Cruise makes The Mummy for the money. But Tom Cruise also makes Mission Impossible films and not for the money (although they make a lot)...the MI films are the legacy of later career...its a labor of love, its why he does all of these ridiculous action scenes and has a big role in it...most artists care about the legacy they leave...I can not imagine many on the main roster are fulfilled that way.

all japan's marketing and merch has been kinda dire compared to the rest so it will be interesting if they keep using the same strategies . Even Noah has said F it and tried with their live streaming and new young champ and just booked osaka edion arena 1 and sumo hall within a space of 2 months. Wrestle-1 actually has upped their video production and their graphics and are pushing their talents but still remains a work in progress
