Sean flew first-class on the way back while I huddled up with the unwashed masses in the middle seat of coach.
You avoided the subway all weekend and STILL got sick, congrats

Too cheap to use that NJPW Mecca Money on a proper first class ticket? ;)

I think there is a lot of "live show bias" in the MSG review. On tv, the show was terrible during the ROH-centric segments. It very well could have been the crowd mics, because ROH can NEVER figure that out, but the show seemed terribly dull at a lot of points, and the ladder match was one of them. You could see people opposite of the hard cam just sitting there with a look of total and absolute boredom.

Loved the attendance stuff, but was sad there was no MLW numbers. Would love to hear how a company with national TV did because there was a distinct lack of buzz going into those shows.

Is Kaname Tezuka just paying you guys in Yen without taking conversion into account? Talk to Harold and at least upgrade to euros, my man.

The WM newbie thing is no excuse for Rich's busted state. As his chauffeur we went to all the same places, and even though I've got a decade on him and it was my first WM weekend I was at work bright and early Monday morning, none the worse for wear. Obviously the answer is that old dudes like Lanza and I are just tougher than these young kids.
For the record the flat tire WHEN I got home after our flat tire fiasco the morning of really put me over the top. I felt pretty okay until that point then was a fucking wreck afterwards
I cannot even imagine what it would have sounded like had we been doing a car review on the way to the airport. It would have set the record for most f-bombs per minute in podcasting history.

I sterilized my insides with large amounts of alcohol on the flight home.

Nothing wrong with live show bias on that MSG show.

Has Lanza ever been to a Takeover? Seemingly uses every excuse in the book to not go and the shows are incredible. Can not imagine anyone going to both Takeover and MSG to come away saying MSG was a better show. Takeover had a better crowd, better matches, etc.

Splurged for MSG floor seats, skipped TakeOver. TakeOver tix were very expensive. Went with the stone cold lock IWGP title change, no promises I ever get to see that again. TakeOver's arent going anywhere.

Four-year journeys being completed again like that aren’t promised either.

I'm extremely happy we were able to get to Takeover and MSG, but we had pretty much resigned ourselves to only doing the MSG show when secondary market tickets for Takeover with obstructed views in the nosebleeds were going for $150 each. We got very lucky to get face value seats 2 hours before the NXT show, and they were good enough seats that I didn't mind spending a decent amount. But if I had to choose only one show to splurge on, I probably would have gone with MSG as well. MSG gave exactly what I was expecting. Takeover ended up overdelivering by a significant amount compared to my expectations going in.

It's easy to dismiss the "eh" of Takeover when it's in a designated prelim portion of the live event that no one was rushing to see when coming from other events. And sometimes they'll have big matches there and it adds to the enjoyment, but if not, easy to ignore. And no complaints either, I'm of the believe that prelims should be prelims.
