Nope, fantastic bumps from Mankind, but I have a hard time buying this as great with all the time spent with nothing happening while Mankind recovers from said bumps.

This is one of the greatest spectacle matches of all time. I first watched this when I was about 10 years old, had barely seen any wrestling and had no idea what was happening. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It left a lasting impression and is my first real wrestling memory. I was hooked. It's a weird match, they don't do too much at all, but it's all so over the top and real that it will make my list.

People will remember this because Mick Foley not only was thrown off the top of the cell, but was thrown through the cage all the way to the floor. The bumps there were astonishing.
But it's not an all time great, no.

Recently rewatched this and other then big moments I don't feel it being a great match. Felt more like a big angle for me.

Doesn't Undertaker just start working Mankind's arm once they get into the ring? No thank you. Great bumps, sure, but as a match this is no good.

As others have said, more an angle than a match. There's very little actual bell-to-bell time in it and there's just no way you can call it an all-time great match. Memorable, yes. All-time great, no way.

my favorite "little" moment doesn't even involve the participants it's the guy jawing with McMahon when Vince comes ringside that "your ratings are up McMahon"...now I'm not sure if it was meant sarcastically or congratulatory but it's just the encapsulation of everything about the whole era

I'd call it an all time great match. I respect the opinions of those saying no, but I tend to take a more casual approach to my wrestling and I remember how I felt watching it for the first time and believe the drama of the match holds up today.
