Typo on the date or is this a match they had on Raw a week after Mania or something?

I'll edit the thread name when we can an official word, I mean we all know it's the WrestleMania 13 match and that date is 3/23/97 but I don't want to piss off Mr. Sammy.

Now on a better note, my thoughts re: this match!

One of my favorites ever and to me one of the best "brawls" in wrestling history. Has a nice flow and almost feels like 3-4 different matches contained in one over-arching story. Executes a double turn perfectly, propelling Austin from upper carder to where he'd be by the end of the year as THE guy. Bret hart is masterful throughout this match and even Austin gives him credit for carrying a huge load and really taking it up a notch by excelling at the little things. A no-doubter for my list.

I'll vote an absolute yes on this one. This might be the best match in company history in terms of what their main focus is: telling stories. (Yeah I know)

I recently watched this months ago and it still holds up in terms of pacing along with the brawling. The Survivor Series match was a master class match between those two guys but this one had to be a great brawl cause of how the story went. Also, Ken Shamrock has referee to me adds a lot more cause he was the UFC guy at the time and he made the match feel like a big fight. He put the cherry on top by slamming Bret after the double turn to leave no doubt which role was which.

This match to me is an all-time great. It felt massive from head to toe. For me on first watch it was better to not acknowledge the whole double-turn aspect of this. I only watched it this year. At first glance, without context, I wouldn't know too well that any sort of character switch occurred.

I think this match is going to get compared consistently to their Surivivor Series match that I just didn't get on first watch. It felt like one of those good Randy Orton matches that you can't get too fussed over at the end of the day.
