Im sure everyone looked into Hammerstein. The fact nobody ran it tells you all you need to know.
Well maybe Bully Ray will keep ROH spending money on frivolous shit and we'll see them back there again.

When MSG was announced, I was surprised no one made a play at Hammerstein.
Hammerstein's supposed to be pretty expensive, no? I remember hearing a story way back about IMPACT or ROH not running it because the owners were upping the price?

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania Weekend Review, G1 Supercard & WrestleMania 35

The gap is due in part to the size of the venues. White Eagle Hall is a stand alone venue meant for events that draw around between 600-700 people. The Hilton (where Wrestlecon was) was a massive conference room which can hold several thousand for a non-wrestling event and had a balcony level as we...

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania Weekend Review, G1 Supercard & WrestleMania 35

The numbers are interesting on attendances. The top five parties to walk out of WrestleMania Weekend (excluding NJPW, ROH and WWE) are GCW (counting all 4 shows means they blow everyone else out of the water by 1500+ tickets), IMPACT, Joey Ryan, RPW and Sami Callihan. You can throw in Wrestlecon as ...

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania Weekend Review, G1 Supercard & WrestleMania 35

Kenny King - I thought I did note that the winner recieved a future title shot. Thats one of the reasons I had no problem with the finish. King vs. Taven is a double heel main event, though. I'm surprised you were fine with that, unless you think Taven is going to get turned face somehow. King has ...

Re: VOW Flagship: Young Bucks & AAA, AJPW, Mania Weekend & more!

I will never begrudge wrestlers for taking as many bookings as possible and maximizing earnings. I don't even begrudge the promotions for running. But do I think we'd be better off with less shows for a variety of reasons? Yes. GCW broke out two years ago and earned their cred. Maybe some of the ne...

Re: VOW Flagship: Young Bucks & AAA, AJPW, Mania Weekend & more!

Because then I am not getting the absolute best work from the best talents wrestling each other. Oversaturation hurts Quality. And why is this the fault of the promotions alone? Do the wrestlers not get their share of the blame for taking the easy money and working seven matches in three days inste...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Definitely feels like Cabana slotted into Berretta's spot. I wonder why they didn't flip him and Owens for slots, and give Owens a bit more of a run.

I don't think you're wrong to be dubious about it. We haven't seen anything materialize so far in regards to television for any non-WWE player for us to be confident.

Re: VOW Flagship: Fastlane, NJ Cup, Wally Yamaguchi & more!

To me, Kofi's point, moreso than Big E and Xavier who did do what you're stating, was the exact opposite of entitlement. He's never felt entitled and has always just gone along with any shots he's gotten. But, now that he has been thrust into the situation and done things that would be befitting so...

Also, I'm listening along past the half-hour mark now and I can see what mlev is saying about the hostility Joe and Rich are presenting.

"Low standards of WWE fans" isn't what I'd call fair.

Re: VOW Flagship: Fastlane, NJ Cup, Wally Yamaguchi & more!

Kofi replaced Ali due to his injury. He pinned Bryan in the Gauntlet match and outlasted everyone but Bryan in the Chamber. At this point, from a "real" perspective, he should get the next shot, but because it was clear that the Kofi thing was bigger than a one month B show match, they needed a way...

Re: VOW Flagship: Fastlane, NJ Cup, Wally Yamaguchi & more!

"They didn't plan this, it fell in their lap." To which I say-so fucking what? I'm tired of the downplaying of good unanticipated booking because it wasn't the original plan or retroactively saying things were failures because the first attempt to get a wrestler or storyline over failed. I mean, ho...
