Re: VOW Flagship: Moxley on Talk is Jericho & AEW Double or Nothing

I'm kind of with arms here. Jericho hasn't impressed me since leaving the WWE.

Re: Official All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Thread

I think Cody's a good worker. But at the same time, I'd caution giving him too much credit on the back of what was basically the optimal match for him to have, with the blood, the family drama and emotions and the perfect captive audience. Dustin Rhodes might well be his best opponent and best tag p...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Of the two KES workers, I think Archer has a better shot of making his way back into the G-1, he had a well received match with Will Ospreay, where as DBS Jr probably hasn't endeared himself to management by whingeing about being misused (whilst he might have a point, publicy airing your grievances...

Re: Official All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Thread

I kind of find it a bit silly that PAC is getting blowback. Like what, are the Elite such greenhorns they couldn't take into account the guy is the champion in another company when booking his storylines? They've all spent time in Japan, they should know better than to expect to job out the equivale...

Re: VOW Flagship: AEW on TNT, Money in the Bank & BOSJ

Some light number crunching: 52 shows x 500,000 (minimum) means that TNT will pay at least 25M for a weekly AEW show. Which is definitely more than what TNA ever got from Spike. So on that basis alone it's a much better deal. That said, comparing it to the XFL deal on the basis of what startup costs...

Re: VOW Flagship: AEW TV, Magee/Hart, BOSJ, Dontaku, Dragon Gate & more!

You're under selling your value as a contributer, cubs. Anglo awareness of Lucha Libre is skin deep at best. The talent that came through LLUSA and Underground was proof of that. A lot of top talent from the first or second largest company in Mexico and Anglo fans had no idea who they were in compar...

Re: VOW Flagship: AEW TV, Magee/Hart, BOSJ, Dontaku, Dragon Gate & more!

Given the recent Fox / Sky split, I'm curious if Fox is going to keep purchasing European sports for their American market. I always figured it was a two-fer thing given they bought pretty much everything for Sky that they could.

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

Context of the question was around 1936, aka when the Nazis hosted the Olympics. Which was three years after the camps started (Dachau), the Aryanization of German society began and the passing of forced sterilization and involuntary euthanasia programs (1933). It was also less than a year after the...

Re: NWA Thread - The Relic, The Remnant

Killer Elite Squad is the last team I can think of. And Rob Conway was in the mix for a while with Jax Dane or somebody else, I think. And there was that weird Diamond Star Wrestling thing in Tokyo where Rob Terry won the title with Kazushi Miyamoto. Am I close?

Re: NWA Thread - The Relic, The Remnant

ACW used to (and maybe still does?) run the Queen of Joshi tournament and was doing stuff like IG before it was trendy. They've fallen off badly in recent years. Inspire has always been big on womens graps. The promoter came from ACW. There was a specific guy you mentioned on the podcast during one...

Answered your own question about the amount of NJPW Mecca Money coming through ha.
Is Kaname Tezuka just paying you guys in Yen without taking conversion into account? Talk to Harold and at least upgrade to euros, my man.

Sean flew first-class on the way back while I huddled up with the unwashed masses in the middle seat of coach.
Too cheap to use that NJPW Mecca Money on a proper first class ticket? ;)

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania Weekend Review, G1 Supercard & WrestleMania 35

Someone made a very intelligent argument on Reddit that Matt Taven vs. Rush is a surefire World Heavyweight title defense for a co-op show in Mexico with CMLL. Matt Taven's worked for CMLL and done well for himself and Rush is obviously over in Mexico, so the crowd reaction would be great and the fa...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Anyone else watching along with the Champion Carnival? I'm doing it piecemeal but so far it's been decent. A propensity of AJPW heavyweight singles matches is never a bad thing, especially coming off a drought with the juniors tournament. Gives you a catalogue to catch up on when AJPW gets hit and m...
