Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Doering vs. Zeus is really awesome. The closing stretch of both guys just dropping bombs, to the point where they almost took themselves out of the match, was brilliant. I loved when Zeus hit just a NASTY jackhammer, but could barely pin Joe. The way Joe just kind of rolled out of the pin was awesom...

Re: My best match #1 - John Cena

I think the further we get from the Extreme Rules match, the better the finish is. Yeh, Brock shouldn’t have lost but it really didn’t matter long term. Plus, they were setting up the chain as the ultimate weapon throughout the match, so I think it works.

Re: My best match #1 - John Cena

The first one that comes to mind is the match vs. Brock at Extreme Rules. It really is an all-timer. Very few matches have a "WHAT IS HAPPENING????" feeliing like that one does.

Re: What's Your Match of the Year Process

I'm a rewatcher. I rewatch things whether I'm evaluating them for MOTY purposes or not. I just like seeing things over again that I really like. I might watch one match 3-4 times in a year, maybe even more. I do agree that sometimes it may take my original feelings out, but it also lets me notice th...

Re: Game Changer Wrestling

Live reaction is that it was 5 stars to me, but will need to rewatch to make sure that wasn't just because I was there.

Re: Game Changer Wrestling

I need to see it on tape, but Gage vs. Tremont was much more of a drawn out, epic thing with different stages and was much more brutal. The BJW match was more of a very good wrestling match with deathmatch elements. My initial thought is that Gage vs. Tremont was better, but that has to do with more...

Re: Game Changer Wrestling

Gage vs. Tremont III was absolutely insane. It was the Omega vs. Okada of deathmatches. I don't necessarily mean it in a "best match ever" way, but they went 50 minutes, kept escalating and by the end were just completely destroyed. They went almost non-stop for the first half hour, there was never ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Omega/Jericho and Tanahashi/White are certainly intriguing. Young Bucks getting the Dome title shot just makes me yawn. The four way was surprising because I expected Ospreay to retain and then get a three way at WK12. Putting the title on Scurll feels like one of those Gedo tropes where he just mo...
