Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The audience seems to enjoy Yano's stuff, and always popped for Taguchi's ass-antics. That's one reason I try not to be too critical, even though I couldn't stand Taguchi when everything was about his butt.

Re: 205 Live Thread

I actually really liked the Noam Dar/Rich Swann match from 5/3. Easily the best Dar match I've seen.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Until I see the schedule, I'm assuming Hiromu's only loss will be to Dragon Lee. He can lose to his long time rival. Would love if Liger plays spoiler and gets a crafty veteran win. Losing to anyone else would damage his credibility I think. Not a lot, but some.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

That A Block... holy crap. I assume B Block is KUSHIDA's to win, but A Block could go 4 or 5 different ways.

Re: Official WWE Thread

Jinder and the Bollywood Boys screams mid-00's Smackdown stable, like the Cabinet or LA Familia. It might be entertaining for a bit, but these things never go anywhere.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

1. Ishii
2. Naito
3. Hiromu
4. Shibata
5. Elgin

While obviously guys like Okada and Omega are some of the best in the world, I have much less personal interest in their matches if it doesn't include one of the above.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

5 stars. My face Okada match since Ishii in the G1. Shibata looked like the most dangerous man in wrestling. Those wrist-lock kicks... holy crap, I was almost convinced Gedo was going to throw in the towel.

The Hiromu win was amazing. I was stunned, but I loved it.

I know movez aren't everything, but Roman seriously needs something to do in the closing stretches besides throw Superman punches and spears.

Re: WWE NXT 2017 (A-show schedule in OP)

Whichever show Nakamura and Revival get called up to, it's going to be awesome. I think any other call ups will wait until they do another draft. There's absolutely nothing for Dillinger to do besides be NXT gatekeeper. Unless you want him to go the way of Tyler Breeze, Adam Rose, and the Vaudevilli...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The big question with the IWGP title is if New Japan will cater to a western audience when they do their G1 specials. Wanting the belt on Omega for those shows while avoiding Omega/Okada 2 is the only hope Shibata has of winning. Personally I don't think they need to do that, but New Japan sometimes...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Makabe does makes a lot of sense for Naito. Can't say I'd look forward to that as much as say, Tiger Mask W, but it would make business sense. I know a Ricochet challenge is unlikely, he'll probably challenge the winner of Hiromu/KUSHIDA. But I would love if incredibly talented jrs like Ricochet mix...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

While I am definitely looking forward to this show, Naito stuck in another tag match and not defending his title is disappointing. The show just feels a little less important without him in a prominent role. It doesn't help that out of the three title matches, only the Jr title is really up in the a...

Re: WWE NXT 2017 (A-show schedule in OP)

Might have to go to the Kansas City show. Went to one last year and it was fun. The problem is trying to figure out who's going to be there if people are getting called up post-Mania.

Re: VOW New Japan Cup 2017 Pick'Em

Went with Omega because I couldn't really see anyone else winning. I had EVIL in the finals though, so I guess I'm rooting for that. Can really only see EVIL or Shibata winning now. Juice, Nagata, and Yano obviously aren't winning. Bad Luck Fale is there just to give a big win to someone else, this ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Haven't watched yet, but see that I went 4/4 on the bracket. Sweet.

I think I have EVIL/Omega in the finals.
