Re: G1 Climax 27

Important thing to remember is the Ace doesn't lose at the Dome. I think Okada loses the belt early next year to Naito. At New Beginnings, Naito takes the belt, Omega wins it from him and Okada wins next year's G1. Which leaves this year's G1 winner completely up in the air. Might be a good time to ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I originally went 1/4* for Tanahashi/Gunn. Worst Tanahashi match I've ever seen, worse semi-main I've ever seen. The crowd hated it, Gunn and Tanahashi seemed to hate it, and I hated it. But at least no one got hurt. But I'm going to knock it down to DUD because it killed the crowd so badly it took ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Yoshihashi vs Suzuki was a fun match. I popped huge when CHAOS actually helped a fellow member of theirs. Once in a blue moon, huh guys. Also Kawato dumbly went after all three SZG juniors in the tag match he was in and it was the best. Kawato was great in that match. Not only at the beginning, but...

Re: G1 Climax 27

Sleeper matches:
ZSJ vs Bad Luck Fale. I want to watch ZSJ climb around Fale like a monkey on a jungle gym.
Ishii vs Goto. Love these NEVER style bruiser matches.
Suzuki vs EVIL. Which of these two is more eeeeeeeeeevil? We'll find out.
Elgin vs Yano. The ultimate Brains vs Brawn match.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The easy assumption now is that we see Okada/Naito & Omega/Ibuishi as the top two dome matches. Anyone see different? I can't help but feel that something else is going to happen... Naito/Okada has been my dome main event prediction all year Omega/Ibushi just makes sense, though the IC title has to...

Re: G1 Climax 27

I'm predicting Okada and Omega in the same block with Omega getting a win. The G1 requires a different style of match, one that could benefit Omega more. No stalling, no legwork, just a balls to the wall attempt to get a win.

Re: G1 Climax 27

I feel a little bad for guys like EVIL, Juice, Tama, and YOSHI-HASHI. This roster is so stacked there's no way them or the Dad's are going to finish with many wins. There's about 9-10 guys I could see being in Finals contention on the last day. I guess if there's one person I would change, I'd proba...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Anyone think Juice is going to be in the G1? I haven't seen anyone mention him, and he's been given some high profile matches this year.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

As I've said, I've never seen wrestling live and I haven't watched wrestling as long as any of you, so I am probably sooooo wrong. Anyway, I will watch back their two matches this weekend and try to come up with something more. I just probably watch wrestling differently from many people, because I...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Gunn is the problem. There are a dozen other westerners who could have gotten that match. The only eyes Gunn is going to draw to the product are going to be rolling at the idea of Mr Ass wrestling in 2017. If Gunn switched places with ZSJ or Juice, you would see a lot fewer complaints. But putting h...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Cody vs Okada... lol. Just laughable. If New Japan is going to cater to western audiences with this, they're not going to succeed. I don't want to see American's fighting in a NJPW ring. I want NJPW action on American soil. Cody cannot provide that. Cody fighting a non-western talent for the first ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Some quick, scattered thoughts: The show peaked with the Jr. Heavyweight match for me. Just as good, maybe better, than their WK match. Easily my match of the night. ****3/4 Cody sucks. Every successful Westerner adapts to New Japan. Cody seems to expect every to adapt to him instead. I preferred Na...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I really hope NJPW has plans for Marty Scrull as something besides a pin eater for the Bullet Club. He gets it better than most of the Bullet Club guys they bring in. Certainly better than Cody, Page, or Cole. He's got the best chemistry with Omega than anyone besides the Bucks. He spent the tournam...

Re: WWE Backlash 2017 - May 21, 2017

In New Japan, Nakamura would have 3 to 4 matches a year that would make you believe he was the best in the world, and coast on his gimmick the rest of the time. Also, he works best with an edge. The WWE babyface style of match doesn't do him a lot of favors.

Re: WWE Money in the Bank 2017 - June 18, 2017

Everyone is saying Corbin or Zayn, but I don't see it, especially Corbin. Corbin with the briefcase would be exactly the same as every heel who wins it, but I don't think he would get a surprise pop when he cashes in. AJ is the only logical winner for me. Nakamura wins the title off Jinder in July, ...
