Re: My Best Match #2 - Samoa Joe

Joe vs Punk 2 got me back into wrestling after a few lean years when I saw it in, 2005 I think. I have zero desire to rewatch it, but it will always mean a lot to me.

Re: My best match #1 - John Cena

Cena vs Umaga, Royal Rumble. Not only is it a great, great match, but it's in the middle of one of the most boring periods in WWE history.

Re: 205 Live Thread

If 205 Live house shows become a thing, I can't see them pulling more than 500-1k. The two NXT house shows I've been to in Kansas where in small arenas that were half empty, maybe 1000ish people there. I drove 3 hours to see Nakamura, ain't driving that to see Drew Gulak.

Re: Official WWE Thread

The AJ/Jinder match gave us a look at what potential Jinder has in the company. AJ bumped like crazy for him, and Jinder looked good for the first time. If Jinder was in Baron Corbin's spot, being a bully and throwing smaller dudes around, everyone would be better off. AJ/Lesnar has a way higher cha...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Jericho is a Top 3 of all time for me, so this has me stoked. I don't care if he's washed up, it's Chris Jericho vs Kenny Omega! Real question, does Jericho/Omega go on before or after Tanahashi/White? Speaking of Jay White, he's going to need some time to adapt to his gimmick. He looks like a teena...

Re: WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 - October 8, 2017

Everything on top of the cell had me on pins and needles, literal edge of the seat drama. I legit screamed at the powerbomb up there. Now, does being scared for the life and well being of the participants make a match good? No, but it definitely helps make up for the rest of the match, which wasn't ...

Re: 205 Live Thread

Somewhere there is a good story to be told with Enzo as champ. If Enzo can channel even half of the Miz, for instance, a story can be told of the main cruiserweights beating him up, just to escape again and again until someone gets hot. The goal could be even simpler, to get Neville off 205 while ke...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

What sticks out to me on the card is how they seem to have dropped a bunch of smaller feuds. It looked like Makabe was going to challenge Suzuki, now they're in different matches and SKG is back to fighting CHAOS. SANADA/Yano was quietly going along, now they're in different matches. Bullet Club vs ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Tana/Suzuki is the way to go. Tana can beat ZSJ at Destruction, lose the title to Suzuki at KOPW, and regain it at WK. My fantasy booking though would have Elgin turn heel and challenge Tana. Tana goes through Suzuki-gun, teams with Elgin at the WTL, they lose in the finals, and Elgin turns on him. ...

Re: G1 Climax 27

My main takeway from the Makabe/Goto main event is that it was cool to actually hear “Immigrant Song” during Makabe's entrance (at least on the live feed - I wonder if they will censor that on the VOD, or if they deliberately included it here so that we could hear Makabe's hometown pop). The VOD wa...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I don't think a title defense for Okada against Evil or Sanada is in the cards for KOPW. That's not really a major draw for a big show. And it's not like they'll need to set up Naito by doing it. I would run Okada/Elgin for KOPW. I think Tanahashi defends the IC title against Suzuki-gun. A title def...

Re: G1 Climax 27

SANADA is definitely Shibata's replacement as the guy everyone complains about not getting pushed. His replacement as main eventer, not so much. Other than BUSHI, SANADA is the low man in LIJ. Maybe, maaaaybe he gets pushed into a mid card title scene next year.

Re: G1 Climax 27

This is where the loss of Shibata really hurts. If Shibata was healthy, he'd be a favorite to win the G1. Then Okada/Shibata II could have main evented the Dome, and they wouldn't have to burn Okada/Naito or Okada/Omega with another Okada win. But remember last year, Omega was not a popular choice t...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I hadn't seen any Jay White in ROH, and was surprised by how good he looked. Whenever he comes back, he's going to be a heavyweight star. With the whole crop of upcoming young heavyweights, I don't see how New Japan keeps them all. If I'm WWE, a guy like White is at the top of my interest list.
