Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

The dojo system of AJPW is influenced by the sumo heya system. The way they handle factions is similar to as sumo stables (partially)these days. Similar to defunct SWS.

Baba loved sumo guys and many workers used to be sumos.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Yoshitatsu pays for his own. Ultimo does as well. I keep forgetting you're deep into the Japanese side of puro stuff. How you know your airfare stuff though is something else, though. Anyway if they went back to the Mutoh era way of so many guys, they won't make a profit as mentioned in Juns new bo...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

I think anyone knows most of the lower wrestling roster in wrestling is deadweight. Out of the big leagues, sure. As for oversea guys, you're forgetting the expenses on hotels and air travel and etc. Plus Josh is just one guy who will be gone later. Voodoo murder had more gaijin and Mutoh overspent...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

They're doing crash tv booking with the titles. So far their fans dont mind in Japan. And in AJPW 80's there was more titles compared to AJPW 90's before the unifications. As for the roster, they want more taller guys while the shorter guys stay in the junior division. Jun loves taller guys and so d...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

All Asia tags have been open weight for years but it seems they want it on older guys now. Meanwhile the world tags are hot shot belts.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Haven't watched much of the junior tournament but checking out the 2.25 finals, Sato vs Kotaro was pretty good. Who's this ringside guy in the glasses, trainee? Don't think I have seen him before You're probably thinking of glasses ref Yes that's it. Thanks, completely makes sense. Anyone thinking ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I wonder if Elgin will win the Njc. Then he loses to Okada.

I knew Ishii was going to lose, most of modern NJPW booking has easy patterns to figure out that the booking team likes to use. And which workers they like to put in certain places and roles.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I have a random Young Lions question as it relates to excursions just in case anyone can answer it... does anyone know how excursions are determined? I was curious how it's determined who goes to CMLL vs. ROH for instance. Also, is there any particular reason why some Young Lions go on an excursion...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

They've already got the GAORA belt for that, haven't they? The All-Asia title was available and it has some Korean history in it, so I guess they figured why not since they're on good terms with Sai and his promotion isn't exactly a threat in Japan. Whatever happens with the All Asia Hw title remai...

I don't know when he will be back in the ring. But he is in the back.

Anyway Sai vs Nomura for the All Asia Heavyweight title. Not sure if Nomura will win, more likely Zeus eventually.
