Re: El Hijo Del Santo vs Espanto Jr. (EMLL 8/31/1986)

Epic match. There are moments inbetween falls where children start to interact with Santo and it's about as magical as pro wrestling gets. It's pretty much the tangible proof of why pro wrestling is special to me. That Santo has the aura and the connection to reach that level that trascends pretty m...

Re: MS-1 vs. Sangre Chicana (EMLL 9/23/83)

I watched this for the first time when I saw Schneider talk about it as the greatest match ever. I don't remember how deep into lucha viewing I was. I thought it was an excellent match and had it at ****3/4. BUT. Then I rewatched it. And. Oh boy. There's just this awesome feeling of gritiness to it....

Re: Pro Wrestling Zero1

Apparently James Raideen wrestled in the main event of some show in Myanmar.

His opponent? Kiyoshi Tamura.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

To me the question isn't if Omega will win but if they will put any faith in him to main event the secondary shows that Nakamura was main eventing before. We've seen how reluctant they were to ever have an IC title match that didn't involve Nakamura regardless of whether he was actually champion or...

Mutoh and Chono were about as strategic as Randy Orton.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Sakuraba should move down to the junior division. Not like he's ever gonna do anything relevant in the heavyweight one and they desperately need big names to put KUSHIDA over and rebuild it.

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Big fan of the current GHC Heavyweight Champion being Minoru Suzuki's bitch and eating his falls in tag matches before the turn.

Re: The 90's NJPW heavyweight scene

The problem with 90s New Japanh heavyweights is that the second and third most pushed guys sucked (Mutoh and Chono) but were out of this world charismatic and warranted a huge push. Hashimoto, Choshu Hase, Koshinaka etc. were all awesome and the interpromotional feuds ruled.

Re: Pro Wrestling Zero1

I wasn't big on the Minoru Tanaka match (since it had Minoru Tanaka in it) but Kotaro should be more carriable and I won't ever complain about more big Ohtani singles matches.

Re: NJPW/CMLL FantasticaMania 2016

Kamaitachi-Dragon Lee was a great match and Kamaitachi's (most likely temporary) return was handled perfectly. But I can't help but worry considering how poorly they've pushed KUSHIDA and the last time a home grown junior got pushed without any nonsense was probably when Choshu was booking (Gedo and...

Re: NJPW/CMLL FantasticaMania 2016

Not giving him the benefit of the doubt cause New Japan's junior division still sucks and they haven't properly pushed a home grown junior since Devitt which was in 2009/2010.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

I don't have much interest in checking out the whole show but Fujiwara/Aoki ruled and I'd be surprised if it doesn't end up being my favourite match from this year.
