Re: Wrestling Omakase #104: G1 Climax 29, AEW Fight for the Fallen & ROH Woes w/ Sean Sedor

Mass Hysteria will be in Lowell , not Boston , so don't expect all that many people regardless of ROH's popularity. With that said, the general point made about attendance predictions stands. I mean, look at that lineup... I was anticipating something great when Sean started with "I actually have a ...

Re: VOW Flagship: G1 Opening Night, Extreme Rules, Fight for the Fallen & more!

RE: "But they won't, because this is Ring of Honor these days" Actually, I assumed it's because some of the people in charge knew they were screwed if the Elite ever left, knew they were always gonna be the bride in the ROH-NJPW relationship because it's New Japan and they're not, and have been tryi...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Sempervive & Summers brought this up on their G1 preview show the other day, and passed it around as gospel, so I meant to ask the brass here: are you all as hyped for Tana/Umino/Narita vs. KENTA/Connors/Fredericks, tomorrow night, as they claim?

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Really loved seeing how many of the wrestlers visibly were pumped to be working this show, empty seats be damned: GOD basically dropped the heel act and just absorbed the energy of the crowd, and that set the tone for practically everyone else (except Fale). I was also shocked at how well SANADA per...

Re: Wrestling Omakase #103: G1 Climax 29 Opener Live from Dallas

Great work as always, and I hope you got reimbursed by Hyatt House Dallas! Am also curious to see if any of you made camera, once you all get around to re-watching this on tape. One of the guys was getting ready to mumble something about Boston, and to that guy: man, fuck you. BTW John, you should k...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Interesting note: SANADA has finished with eight points every year he has participated, whereas EVIL has bounced between eight-twelve depending on the year. With all of the new faces threatening to eat up more of the spotlight this year, despite the fact that he has been booked arguably at his stron...

Re: VOW Flagship: Fyter Fest, G1 Climax Preview, ROH BITW & more!

As annoying as the ROH "defeatist" booking direction is, I actually don't blame the brass there too much for adopting it: - as long as they're tethered to Sinclaire, even if they bounce back from this dark cloud hanging over them, they still won't have too much room to grow much further than they di...

Re: Wrestling Omakase #102: 2019 Mid-Year Awards w/ Five Guests

About fifty minutes in, I'm convinced: Lawson & Paul need to become your permanent co-hosts. Also, still trying to decide if I anticipate this or the year-end awards more. Also, tell Gerald to fix his audio a bit, on the commute he's the only one of the five I'm having a hard time hearing at times. ...

Re: VOW Flagship: Bischoff/Heyman, Fyter Fest, Stomping Grounds & more!

Really happy Rich stood up for Streets of Rage--I get the feeling that Joe was treating it merely as 'alright' because he was thinking solely about the original, while I suspect Rich was talking about the series as a whole. With that said, Rich, how excited are you for SOR 4? I'm really interested i...

I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED the "Alf is back in Pog form" line from today's episode, excellent work there. I also enjoyed Nov describing Walter's wrestling style, I owe him some pasta for his work here.

Re: Wrestling Omakase #101: How to Travel to Japan & More Live Thoughts w/ Taylor

Enjoyed Part 2 greatly, although your disappointment in the TJP tag title match was a bit puzzling...I mean, Misao was right there, how was it not going to be dragged down? Very glad John pointed out the hypocrisy in people picking on Ibushi & Naito but not Ospreay, even though frankly I feel indiff...

Oh wow, a Tuesday night recording...you boys are a little excited, I take it. I'll listen to this and the J-Cast back-to-back, in order to see who sounds like they're busting a nut harder.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I'm trying to figure out who will challenge Naito for the IC title (and briefcase?) later in the year. If Naito's winning the block then he's probably going to beat Switchblade because their match is on the final night and seems like the block decider. Moxley & Ishii have their own belts to defend....
