Re: VOW Flagship: VOW vs Impact, Wednesday Night Wars, Bouncin' x2

That would be the beauty of the experiment: we stick Stateside and naturally, they're nowhere near that mark, that much is true. BUT, at least in my case, I absolutely would make this a worldwide/global discussion. At that point, how crazy do you get with it? STARDOM above them? CMLL, maybe? Are BJW...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Aw, Hammerstone ran into a roadblock today...or a train, or a powerful plane, depending on who you ask. Still, I'm sure it was cool for him to get another singles main event, and most likely have a very good match pulled out of him by Big Boss Sugiura. He still has Marufuji and Kitamiya in front of ...

Re: VOW Flagship: VOW vs Impact, Wednesday Night Wars, Bouncin' x2

Listening a little further, and a few miscellaneous notes: - one smaller point not really mentioned in all of the Impact talk was that you arbitrarily numbered Impact as the 19th-most relevant promotion out there, in jest of course...but, I legitimately think it would make for a fun thought experime...

Re: VOW Flagship: VOW vs Impact, Wednesday Night Wars, Bouncin' x2

If you tweeted out positive things every now and then, or reviewed some of the shows critically, you might actually cultivate that relevancy in your own base.you guys are the tastemakers here! I think that's part of why the "difficulty" in watching Impact is such a big talking point for them; you c...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Catching up on results from the last couple of days, and Alex has gotten off on the right foot, hooray. All things considered, I am actually more intrigued about the fact that Taniguchi has this Wyvern Clutch now; either he has a submission now, or he has a wacky cradle now. On Shuhei, both things s...

Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.

Writing that novella has had a net positive effect, though--I'm now half-tempted to go watch it too. You sure you can't jump on to guest on one of our fine podcasts and finish convincing me?

Re: Wrestling Omakase #107: NJPW G1 Climax 29 Wrap-Up (Nights 15-19) w/ Sean & Andy

RE: the Naito defense rant Hey, I think you forgot to mention the part where you think it's nuts that the company consistently plateaus down the guy you consider to be the best wrestler on Earth--and who would be more likely to make the company immediate, noticeable business as ace--in favor of some...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

One of my main takeaways from the tour is Naito, who I've always been a little mixed on, showing very little that says "I should be headlining the dome" his match with Shingo was superb and the Ishii match was great too but both those guys had great matches most nights You think Naito knew well ahe...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Dave perpetuating this ongoing narrative is odd to see: I don't want to say that Naito can't go any more, but this version of Naito can't hang with the top in-ring guys in the industry right now. He's just too beaten up. If I were booking, I'd be putting Shingo in Naito's spot for whatever long-term...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I really love the way they built up Block B finals: they shape up most of the night exactly how think it would go--as opposed to the night prior, where most of the matches were 'meaningless' but still managed to have a couple of head-scratchers to surprise you, as noted above--and then BAM! A lot of...

Re: VOW Flagship: AEW TNT Debut, NJPW/ROH, TripleMania & more!

Many thx for going over N-1 real quick; I would argue that, given how Marufuji is trying to step out of the main event spotlight, I wouldn't be surprised if he's fine with dropping a fall to Hammerstone to keep himself out of the Block A running. Alex is gonna end up 2-2 in his block, mark it now. O...

One discussion point during the Kobe review, you guys didn't being up at all I don't think, so I meant to ask: what did you guys think of Ishida's performance in the semi-final?

Re: Dragon Gate

A few notes from watching Kobe World last night: - really happy to see Okuda has landed on this new home for him, dude looks like he's fired up for making it here and I'm curious to see how his style meshes with everyone as he starts to move up the card - was surprised with Kzy vs. Skywalker being t...

Re: VOW Flagship: Fight for the Fallen, Extreme Rules, EVOLVE & more!

Not sure where Dark Order needs to go. They are good wrestlers, and I've always liked Evil Uno. They weren't the stars of the threeway and the promos are lackluster. Maybe a normal tag to let them show off their skills? I don't know. I have a sneaking suspicion the next tag they do, it's gonna be t...
