Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

The problem with NOAH is I don't think "they" control what they do anymore. It's clear that Bushiroad has some sort of power when it comes to NOAH these days so even if they wanted to downsize they can't. I don't think Kidani views NOAH as his NXT either. I thought the whole reason he had any intere...

Re: NJPW G1 Climax 25 (Discussion)

they have just cut Shibata's momentum there, the crowd were behind him solidly. I honestly don't know what more the guy can do. He was in there with their long time ace and the crowd were chanting his name. He's one of the best workers in the company and yet they still put no trust into him as a to...

Re: Wrestle-1 thread

KAI is the biggest geek in wrestling and it isn't even his fault. Look it's one thing if he would have lost to like Kono or Soya or Kondo but he lost to JIRO in the Grand Prix. Holy shit no wonder fans don't like the guy. And yeah, Hideki Suzuki is with Zero1. I don't know who's idea it was to have ...

Re: NJPW G1 Climax 25 (Discussion)

Most of the disappointing early draws could be put down to New Japan running shows outside of their traditional markets. This Osaka show however did pretty badly too so they've got a problem on their hands. Too many meaningless matches on shows, uneven blocks, no real special addition to the tournam...

Re: NJPW G1 Climax 25 (Discussion)

AJ and Kota might have been more of an athletic showcase but the best wrestling match in the G1 has been Tanahashi and Naito. It's also the most important match in New Japan this year just in terms of the storytelling and the dynamic going forward. Naito is a golden god.

Re: NJPW G1 Climax 25 (Discussion)

Naito vs Shibata was extremely disappointing in my opinion. I really don't see what the hype is all about. This was over when it just started getting good. I liked the subtleties like Shibata only using his good leg for the corner dropkick. But that's all there is to it to be honest. The ending cam...

Re: NJPW G1 Climax 25 (Discussion)

Shibata and Naito was by far the match of the G1 so far and one of the best matches this year. I'm sad a lot of the details get lost on people because phew boy was that match insanely good. And I'm not sure how you can say Tenzan doesn't belong there anymore when that crowd was pretty hyped up for h...

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

Here's a few upcoming matches in Big Japan. I'll spoiler tag them. Okabayashi will defend his belt against Kawakami on 8/30. Okabayashi is also having a match against Abby Kobayashi on 8/17 but I don't know for certain if that's for the Strong title. Ito vs Sekimoto on 8/17 will be a lighttube death...

Re: As NJPW looks to expand globally, will their name hold them back?

New Japan should worry about their decline in Korakuen before they worry about changing their name to expand overseas.

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

3,985 fans they drew. Eh... That's not a bad number? Big Japan's not a huge promotion. They sometimes don't draw 1000 for their Korakuen shows. They couldn't run their regular deathmatch set up either. I was worried it would have been less actually. This card wasn't full on special attractions. It ...

Re: NJPW G1 Climax 25 (Discussion)

I think people get too caught up on watching all these matches to be 20 minute plus. AJ and Shibata was perfect for the time it got and told a pretty great story. Shibata and AJ were very evenly matched until the end when Shibata's injuries caught up with him. Even then he wasn't going to let his me...

Re: Does Ryusuke Taguchi have go away heat?

Still my favorite junior(cue the looks.) But when I said that, this was years ago when he was really, really, really, really good. Which is unfortunately something that people forget because Taguchi's so into, well, whatever he does now. But the fact is he hasn't been the same since missing like ni...

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

I'm a pretty big Big Japan fan but I mostly know more about the younger guys. I'm still pretty sad they lost Oshita. He was really great. Super bummed out about that one. Kikuta's pretty good but he's 29 believe it or not. Sakuda looks like he's gonna be pretty great. Haven't seen enough of Uto but ...

Re: Full 2015 G1 Schedule

I did my spreadsheet today. AND....I had Ibushi going over Nakamura in the finals. would play into their match from January. The only problem with this is that Kota won the New Japan Cup. Pretty sure since Gedo's started booking the same guy hasn't won both the NJC and the G1. I still think Ibushi'...

Re: Full 2015 G1 Schedule

I have Shibata winning both A & B Block. Good man. I went with the obvious Nakamura vs Styles final with Nakamura winning. I've had Nakamura winning for 3 years in a row. I will be right one year...... Here's a few of my suggestions: Karl Anderson always scores a big win. There's usually one match ...
