Finally made it to the end of the show.

Re: VOW Flagship: BOSJ Finals, Dominion, Lucha Talk, Punk & All-In

The thing about Punk is that he's known for cutting people off and out of his life. Usually for good. I suspect the same thing may apply for parts of his life. He's cut out wrestling - and at least some of the people involved in that part of his life. That's his choice, good or bad, justified or unj...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I'd imagine the less I say about the main event, the less I will harsh everybody's positive buzz about it. Really great show overall. Only the Rey six-man match was kind of just there, and while some questionable decisions were made (actually, just one, as I thought booking a three-way for NEVER, th...

Re: VOW Flagship: BOSJ, MLW/ROH TV, Squirrel Meat & more!

There's no way to logic anybody into liking something, because most of the time our enjoyment comes first and the reasoning for why we like something comes a posteriori (I think using that term should qualify me for the wrestling intelligentsia membership). So take the following as more of an explan...

Re: STR: general feedback, comments, etc.

Damn AMA just made me sad for a bit... I loved the AMA episode a lot. The WWE wrestlers as SAG breakdown was great stuff, something you just don't hear a lot about but very interesting perspective into what could happen, why it might not, why it might not be as good as people think it might be etc....

Masashi Takeda vs Abdullah Kobayashi, BJW Deathmatch title, 5/2 (aired whenever, I completely forget)

Re: VOW Flagship: WOTY Candidates, FOX/WWE & much more!

Re: Ilja [ill-ya] I think his is a mix of having followed the story (as many passionate fans of wXw have over the years) but also just the immediate intensity the guy has that sucks in newer fans who haven't followed the story. But something as vague as "intensity" is never going to be something you...

Re: VOW Flagship: All In, Rumored WWE TV Deal, Super Juniors & more!

Rest of the show was very funny. According to a website (https://forvo.com/word/johan_de_meij/) the pronounciation of "Meij" is as simple as "May". So we can have "Who's on First" type skits about him. "Harold Meij--" "What may Harold?" Anyway, I think he spoke Indonesian and Dutch as well as Englis...

Re: (Patreon Exclusive) Lanza TV Reviews: MLW, ROH & 205 Live

I finally got on the Patreon gimmick and even though realized my favorite podcast app, Player FM, doesn't like private feeds so I can't really listen on the go unless I dl the eps and upload them to my phone or to my cloud, I've been listening to these TV reviews while doing chores at home and reall...

Re: VOW Flagship: All In, Rumored WWE TV Deal, Super Juniors & more!

I'm not done listening yet, just wanted to drop my thoughts on All In/Starcast. I think on Wrestlenomics they said who the guy behind Starcast was, and he was basically a businessman doing these podcast deals with all sorts of former stars, and coincidentally is married to Ric Flair's other daughter...

Re: VOW Flagship: Twitter Stinks, Champion Carnival, Joe in NOLA

Glad to have you guys back. Congrats on the matrimony, Joe. Happy belated 4/20, Rich. Twitter tries to be better about context with the threaded tweets but then it gets worse with context with the non-linear /highlights timetime that chops your timeline up and serves a tweet from 18 hours ago next t...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Get ready! For three weeks cold takes! I watched most of the Lions Gate show and caught a glimpse of the new young lions. Narita really showed a lot in his match against the newbie Uemura, who certainly has 'the look', but not much else thus far. Will see how he develops over time. Preferred Tsuji, ...

Re: VOW Flagship: Superstar Shakeup, Andre doc, WrestleMania & more!

Have not finished listening yet, just wanted to once again say I love Hawkins' perspective on WWE, loved it back when I still watch and like hearing it even now when I don't watch (aside from the handful of NXT main events I check out). His analysis never feels too cynical but also it's not overly g...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I think a podcast that is focused on something specific really helps new fans get more invested, even if it's not always all positive but just genuine reactions, and I think Purocast filled that purpose. I always look up podcasts if I get into something new and exciting, and I'm sure Purocast was th...

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

At least booking in the deathmatch division seems to be in good condition. No complaints from me about another Takeda vs Abby Jr match, considering the last singles one they had is one of my favorites.
