Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Anyone else expecting any more surprise news or dates from Jan. 3 Korakuen or was Maruyama joining and the blocks for Junior BOG all that's gonna be announced...? Wouldn't be mad about the new trainee name for gods sake His name is Ebina. Was unintentionally announced at the Carbell year end party ...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Gonna be interesting to see the names announced for the Carnival, with no Jake Lee or Kengo Mashimo being able to participate (at least I think Mashimo will still be out). Last Year: Ishikawa, Hashimoto, Sekimoto, Lee, Doering, KAI, Mashimo, Nomura, Miyahara, Sai, Suwama, Omori, Bodyguard & Zeus, w...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

In Kenoh they also have a guy with experience as an ace. NOAH and Michinoku Pro are different animals, but Kenoh was their top star/one of two for as good as his entire career there. He is used to the commitment of being on top and carrying a company. So he is great to have in that role until Kiyomi...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

15 dates announced for the Champion Carnival in 2018. This is the biggest CC since the one in 2002 It is going to be interesting to see what outside talent is brought in to fatten the blocks. BJW talent seem logical pending them getting out of the Strong Climb uninjured. Soya would not be a big stre...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Something I've been wondering for a while, Anyone who may have been following at the time know why Minoru Tanaka left in 2009? And what prompted Kanemoto to leave a few years later? And to answer Buzz's question: Same reason the ref would break up a submission when a limb is on/under the rope, it's...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Another question is if KENTA would come back to NOAH at all. Or would he use his post-WWE buzz to try and break into New Japan?

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Looks like Tatsu is going to keep being a regular/semi-regular going forward. Reading his blog it is pretty clear how happy he is getting steady work and how grateful he is for All Japan taking a chance and booking him. Good for Yoshi on finding happiness in wrestling again. I hope Kotaro wins the b...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Whether or not it's the person PKThree is talking about, @Hi5ame on Twitter is well worth a follow. He lives in Japan and does translations for all-things NOAH, as well as historical posts. Apparently Friday's Korakuen is near-sellout, with only standing-room balcony tickets remaining. Not sure how...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Apparently Ratels is NOAH's biggest merchandise seller. With Kenoh being the best selling singles act but still behind the junior faction.

Weird but fun data according to a twitter account that documents the goings ons in NOAH

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

So the new trainee's name is Ebina. This was revealed at the Carbell end of year party/wrestling show where he and Okada showed off some wrestling techniques. Speaking of Ebina he should be ready to debut soon. He's been in the dojo since May or June, which was around the time that Okada joined the ...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

What was must-see from the tag league? From what I have seen so far: You can basically watch the entire final show. Everything on it is good at minimum and the top of the card is fantastic. From what I have seen recommended: Basically any match featuring Nomura and Aoyagi, Kento & Tatsu vs Wild Bur...

Re: Best Trainers in Wrestling

This is about two Japanese promotions so sorry if this thread was meant only for American promotions. I'm not sure if exactly who are involved in all the training in the All Japan dojo, but I believe Aoki is the or one of the main trainers there. And with resume of students like Naoya Nomura, Aoyagi...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

1660 fans in attendance in Korakuen today for the RWTL finals (Great number btw). Suwama and Ishikawa (or Violence Giant as they are now known as a team) won the tournament, going through Kento and Tatsu in their last block match. In the finals they beat Okami (Kamitani and Hashimoto) who beat NexTr...

Re: NWA Thread - The Relic, The Remnant

Hopefully they can get some interesting matchups for Aldis to get some of the hype back. And also be a bit more smart with what promotions they go to

Re: NWA Thread - The Relic, The Remnant

Aldis beat Storm at Cage of death to become the new heavyweight champion. Match should be up on youtube later for those that did not catch it live. So, let me get this straight. Storm apparently comes to CZW to address the roster as there are CZW guys (Joey Janela, MJF, Matt Tremont etc) who want a...
