Re: VOW Flagship: Liger, Bundy, Destroyer, New Japan Cup & more!

My only time seeing Liger live was in a random match, but it actually totally worked. It was the RAMBO last year, and there was a moment where Suzuki-gun cleared the ring and were standing tall, crowd booing like crazy, and the countdown goes down and Liger's music hits. Huge pop, it was awesome.

Re: VOW Flagship: XFL, Prichard, Kofi,Honor Rising, AJPW

Some AJPW notes: I know Jake Lee was pegged as the heir ascendant two years ago, but I think most fans (and maybe the company) have sort of switched focus to Naoya Nomura as of late. He kicked ass in the CC last year, and he's picked up some big wins in the past couple months. Then of course he left...

How are you going to say that Davis vs. Liger is the real main event? Hasn't Devlin vs. Walter been promoted as THE match for OTT in 2019?
I just meant in terms of what match im really excited for

Re: Over The Top Wrestling - Ireland's #1!

Scrappermania card is probably a tiny bit worse on paper than expected, Barry vs Starr will be heated but.......... dunno about anything beyond that. The four way tag doesn't interest me at all. That being said, Davis vs Liger is the real main event. If both guys come to put on a show, it could be R...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Not a big fan of some of the NJC choices (of all people................... Colt fuckin Cabana????) but Naito vs Ibushi could be really fun, especially if they do a sort of sprint-y version of their G1 matches. FYI their G1 match this year was by far the best of the tournament and if you disagree,,,,...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

I know people are hot and cold on AJPW juniors in general but Iwamoto definitely has something. If he manages to grow a little bit and expand his match structure I think he'll totally get to be one of the top tier guys in the company (he's definitely already pushed/treated like one). Excellent Suwam...

Re: VOW Flagship: Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston, Giant Baba Memorial, RevPro & more!

The timeline to Joe loving Gresham is accelerating it seems thanks Gedo I will say this. He's probably the most consistent guy I watch. Always lands right at like ***1/4-***1/2, every time. Yeah a lot of mileage with him will come down to the old "what you value" conundrum. Gresham to me is a guy w...

Re: VOW Flagship: Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston, Giant Baba Memorial, RevPro & more!

Surprised to hear you guys ABSOLUTELY BURY (aka sort of not like) Jonathan Gresham, especially when in my purview he had easily the best in-ring resume last year out of anyone on that much hyped RevPro card. Dunno if you guys have gotten some bad info from dubious Twitter sources, because the Letha...

Re: VOW Flagship: Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston, Giant Baba Memorial, RevPro & more!

I will say that his obvious breakout shouldve been the ZSJ match at Final Battle which was weirdly disappointing (when they've had great matches before). But ultimately he's a guy who's never gotten a serious singles push in any major promotion. If he had an EVOLVE run or something I think people wo...

Re: Official All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Thread

I don't think so. Fans have found their way into the New Japan product, which remains compelling for them as they are now familiar with the Japanese talent and there is good Western talent remaining at New Japan. Nothing hinders fans to just watch both. I think you underestimate how many of the cas...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I don’t think White winning was a result of Omega leaving. If Omega had stayed then he loses tonight and the story is that Jay Whute is Omega’s kryptonite because that would make White against 2-0 Kenny. You could see this as the story since wrestle kingdom. White Okada and Tana survived Kenny as t...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I think in terms of where White's character is and the believability aspect, totally okay with White getting the title here, even if it was basically by lucky happenstance with Omega leaving. In terms of Jay White as a wrestler though, he's still not clicking for me. This was a clear marked improvem...

Re: VOW Flagship (2/7): Call for Questions

Which Japanese promotion do you think AEW will work with ?, As it looks like NJPW is going to stick with ROH. Cause the rumours I have been hearing lately is that they might work with DDT. Not to say it's impossible, but I can't see it happening. DDT just partnered with WWN for their USA show. And ...
