Re: Minoru Suzuki

I thought he was way more effective/interesting during his 2004-2006 run. I loved the tag team with Marufuji, and am definitely the high man on the Kobashi title match. His match with the other KENTA as the honour of being the only time I've ever seen my Mum get into a wrestling match.

Re: Jun Akiyama

This video may sum up Akiyama https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7MshERNRCoWS2lLR1JmYlVTc1E You get an EPIC tag title match at Budokan that he is just out of this world in (one of the best slow building matches I've ever seen) and then later on the video he's wrestling this super fun 8 minute match ...

Re: Masao Inoue

So I started watching some random stuff last night and I stumbled across something amazing. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7MshERNRCoWS2lLR1JmYlVTc1E In the second half of this video there's a video package of some story about Inoue and Akiyama which seems to be based around a cartoon drawing th...

Suzuki & Marufuji vs Akiyama & Hashi is a personal favourite match of mine. It's absolutely glorious.

Re: Naomichi Marufuji

For the record it's probably Oct 31 2006 vs KENTA but I go back and forth in thinking that match has major flaws.

Re: Naomichi Marufuji

Best Marufuji singles match in NOAH guys? An absolutely insane thing about him - scanning my MOTY Tracking Lists since 2007, and it looks like at least 18 of his 20 best singles matches are OUTSIDE Pro Wrestling NOAH. Between G1s, his run as IWGP and AJPW junior champ, and ROH the majority of his be...

Probably he single guy I'm most looking forward to deep diving on. Always struck me that he has got the bad end of the stick reputation wise.

Re: WWE NXT 2017 (A-show schedule in OP)

Prediction/hunch for Takeover: If AOP and Sanity ends up being any good, I think people are going to come out of it talking up Wolfe. There's a guy who's on nobody's radar. Based on the brawl they had a few weeks back though, I get the feeling he's going to be bumping big to make AOP look good and ...

Re: G1 Climax 27

This is complicated, and like I wrote in response to the recent Wrestlenomics episode, wrestling fans in the West have gotten used to knowing, so sometimes not knowing really unsettles them, so they'd rather believe every injury is a shoot than accidentally get worked. With Japanese wrestling cultu...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Sami Callihan's been pretty great since he left WWE. Idk if he quite fits NJPW though, especially if this character is going to be in a faction. Aries would be great but this gimmick seems odd on him. Not familiar with his Austin Starr run, was it dark like this? Or was that just another name? it w...

Re: G1 Climax 27

Rich's point is bang on but ESPECIALLY so in Japan. They are so much more old school than you'd naturally think. It's a world of difference between them and US/UK promotions and wrestlers.
