Re: NJPW (Discussion)

Thanks so much for the detailed recommendations. TBH I think that’s the difference maker between me subscribing again on Oct 1, or letting it run to Dec or even Jan. The Iizuka match would never have been on my to watch list, so that was exactly bang on the button of ‘what have I missed (and I’d for...

Re: NJPW (Discussion)

a simple one would be to watch both Will and Shingo's BOSJ and G1 run Thanks. I've got that down on my list. But wouldn't you know, I got a mail from NJPW today saying that my credit card had expired. Now, I see from their sign up that they are a bit sneaky as if I sign up again now, I'll be billed...

Re: NJPW (Discussion)

The real world has impeded my wrestling watching this year. But I want to catch up now. I'd be most grateful to any pointers of promos, matches and angles that I should catch up on post-Wrestle Kingdom (and I might even start by re-watching this as it feels a very distant memory). I'd say that I'm a...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Watching Moxley in the G1, I can't help wondering what we'd have been treated to if Daniel Bryan had let his WWE contract expire too. But maybe I'm just being greedy at this stage.

Re: VOW Flagship: Bischoff/Heyman, Fyter Fest, Stomping Grounds & more!

I liked the “investor POV” on the appointments. The last quarter call was excuses, now it’s time to show action. It’ll probably give them 2 investor calls, but if the questions are being asked they won’t go away forever unless WWE finds a way to turn round the metrics on their paying customers (Netw...

Re: Official WWE Thread

I'm thinking he may have hired a PR consultant on his last trip to Jeddah. But seriously he can't be doing this without the implicit approval / instigation of WWE management, I guess they think they are taking the fight to everyone else, but I don't really get it. Oddest part of that interview for m...

Re: Official WWE Thread

Hard to work out who Rollins is working for at the moment. His "best wrestler in the world" imploded all over Twitter. The doubling down was extraordinary, given that it must have been approved by WWE. Granted, WWE must know a lot more about marketing than I do, but I'd have thought if you were the ...

Re: Jon Moxley on Jericho's Pod

I think one thing that the interview reminded me of is that wrestlers characters tend to work best when they are extensions of their natural personas. Moxley’s natural character seems to be a down to earth guy who wants to show he’s the best in the ring and tell it how it is on the mic. Vince it see...

Re: Official All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Thread

Back in the early days of Progress, the Jimmy Havoc story for me made the organization. And served to confuse me because I’d not have thought myself into the plunder matches, but in particular his matches with Ospreay and Paul Robinson were great. So I hope he gets a good run in AEW, at the very lea...

Re: VOW Subscriber Tier - Tell Us What You Want

I listened to the 12/22 podcast, and I have to be honest. I’m still not sure what I’d get if I signed up. As far as I remember the levels were: $2 = show over runs. But as these haven’t happened I can’t know the frequency, length or content $5 = the above plus other stuff. This stuff may include Lan...

Re: VOW Subscriber Tier - Tell Us What You Want

If this were me, my first point of call would be "what can be done to maximize the value of what we already have". For example, I don' t know what your kick-back on Amazon orders is but I'd be trying to maximize that. I'm sure like many listeners leading up to the holiday season purchases have been ...

Re: WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 - October 8, 2017

I've come to the conclusion that WWE are probably happy with Nakamura as JAG in 2* matches. It gives the impression that if this is the best NJPW has got they can't be much and deters people from maybe taking a punt on the NJPWWorld subscription.

Re: Official WWE Thread

The WWE has had Brock Lesnar for over five years. They have used him to put over (but ultimately won feuds over) John Cena, HHH, and Goldberg with the ultimate goal of at 6 years to finally put over Roman Reigns. What is truly amusing is that Joe and Stowman have both been put away with 1 F5 to re-...

Loved Omega thanking the crowd for selling out the show. With that undercard, unless there was a lot of papering that is a very strong draw from Omega.
