Re: Underrated/Unheralded Matches

Akiyama, Morishima & Kikuchi vs Kobashi, Rikio & Hashi from 1/10/04. At this point they had already started promoting Akiyama/Kobashi in the Dome for the title, but something about this match just made everyone go 110%. A few month's prior you get the most "stacked" NOAH 6 man ever with Kobashi/Akiy...

Re: Jun Akiyama

Current working #1 for me and I frankly don't see him dropping below #3, his in ring is way too strong to deny and to me is the best wrestler to step foot inside a NOAH ring hands down.

Re: Takashi Sugiura

Currently Top 3 for me, he won't end up anywhere after #8 in all likelihood and could sneak ahead of KENTA for #2. His entire NOAH run is entirely underrated and he's just been killing it there since 2001, Sure fire top contender for me.

Re: Takuma Sano

Absolutely makes my ballot, probably ends up in the high 30's/lower 40's but he is on there. Would rec the 2/20/04 6 man tag with him, Taue and Makoto Hashi vs Kobashi, Honda and KENTA it is real good stuff.

Re: Jimmy Rave!

After watching some of Rave's stuff from this year, I can finally see where his biggest supporters are coming from. I think Dylan deserves all the credit in the world for actually talking him up so much and making sure everyone knows what he is doing. Rave was the definite MVP of the SCI to me, and ...

Re: Mitsuharu Misawa & Jun Akiyama vs. Shinya Hashimoto & Yuji Nagata (Zero-One 03/02/01)

So, to provide a bit of background to this match, Hashimoto was in NOAH two months prior and he and Misawa were throwing bombs at each other and it was just GOOD STUFF, which is really all the background you need. Now, this match takes place at Zero-One's debut show, and you have Misawa bringing alo...

Re: Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (01/26/00)

I remember when Sam was first telling me about the project this was one of the first matches that came to my mind for WHATEVER reason. I personally just love everything about it and really established Trips as the guy and of course Cactus is too good in it.

Re: 2015 Wrestler of the Year tracker

After watching his match vs. friggin Abdullah Kobayashi Jr, I'm very tempted to say that Yuji Okabayashi needs to be given a ton of consideration here. Since coming back from a year of in December, he's been amazing. Hell his first couple of matches after returning are great (watch the stuff he did...

Re: Dylan's Southern Indie (or is it Indy, you decide) thread of doom (SCI, Empire, PWX, et.)

Night One of the SCI was fantastic stuff, thought Hollis/Lynch had an Opener of the Year Candidate, and Coleman/Collins was great as well. Henry/Rave was amazing though, ****1/2 which means it is a bonafide MOTYC, great shit not only from Rave, but Henry seems like a guy that should be getting work ...

This episode was definitely a cluster, but it was a fun cluster, would definitely recommend listening to it and I have NO BIAS at all.

Re: Voices of Video Games

Playing a ton of Smite because I am not a big enough nerd already, but besides that I've been playing a ton of NCAA '12 (360), WWE 2K15 (PS4) and GTA V (PS4) lately, and already have a ton of stuff pre ordered for the second half of the year, should be FUN.

Re: Podcasts Thread

I tend to listen to a lot more video game centric podcasts, such as the Giant Bombcast, Dude Soup and occasionally the Kinda Funny Gamescast. Wrestling wise, I actually just catch whatever pops up on my Twitter, rather that be something in the VOW family, an odd Art of Wrestling, Phoenix Plex and Pu...

I don't do Observer style awards, but from a pure match perspective I think both Sekimoto and Okabayashi are Top 10 six months into the year, they are both THAT good.
