Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Ok, again, let me put this into context. This goes back to the Keiji Muto era. The 2003 Champion Carnival drew so poorly that when they ran the 2004 edition Muto flat out told the press that if 2004 didn't perform well they would no longer run the tournament. Couple that with how badly they drew fro...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

NJPW 4 shows @ Korakuen att 5927 avg 1481.75 AJPW 3 shows @ Korakuen att 4900 avg 1633.33 All Japan drew about 150 more fans in April. The press are touting this as a return of the "big two". All in all it's pretty exciting to see what a shot in the arm the tour was, but imo the guy who really deser...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

There are a couple of factors that played into the 1241 number at Korakuen. There were indeed fans there to see perennial midcarder and New Japan nobody Yoshitatsu get a shot at the Triple Crown, but the undercard was stacked. There was W1 participation and a BJW offer match, plus the big 10 man tag...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Doesn't matter the number should have been stronger. They've always done well there. Their dojo and office is there. The guys workout there. The number is poor.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Yusuke Okada has so much fucking charisma. Watched the highlights of his tag on 10/11 and he was just so fiery, that shoot headbutt and his bumping scares me though. Reminds me of a younger Tsuyoshi Kikuchi or Hiroshi Yamato which are two of my favorites, but things didn't end up so well for them be...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Keisuke Ishii joined All Japan in 2007 or 2008 there were two others that joined with him and none of them made it out. Suwama was a 2004 entrant. I stand corrected I mean... I DID run a website for All Japan during the Muto era so that's why, but I had to dig through my archives to get the informa...

Keisuke Ishii passed the 2007 open tryout. The other person to make it to the ring was Hajime Suruga in 2008. He retired shortly after his debut.
