Re: The JOSHI thread

To me, one of the bigger things from joshi from the past month or so has been Kagetsu (World of Stardom Champion) making a surprise appearance at Sendai Girls (where she trained/debuted). I've been avoiding results because I'm hoping to watch these shows unspoiled. There was a big main event on thei...

Re: Rookie of the Year

Well, Utami Hayashishita debuted in late summer and has been given a God push in Stardom, nicknamed the "Super Rookie." Still, it won't be enough to beat Ronda. for the sake of compiling some kind of list, here are some of the other rookies from Stardom. -Utami Hayashishita (debut 08/12/2018) -Leo O...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Have had the worst luck with njpwworld today. Usually work via chrome browser/chromecast. Having all kinds of problems today on both phone and laptop.

Re: 2017 Official Announcement (1/1/18 Observer)

tl:dr
The Observer awards for 2017 will be from Dec. 1 2016 to December 31, 2017. Good change.
The other big change is having fewer Category A awards, meaning that some awards have gone from having three picks to just one pick.

Re: 2017 Rookie Tracking

Would Filthy Tom Lawlor be eligible? I would think not simply because he did pro wrestling for a couple of years (though it was at the smaller independent level) before getting into MMA and did a little bit of pro wrestling early in his MMA career (prior to signing to UFC in 2009). Seems like someo...

Re: 2017 Rookie Tracking

seems kinda pointless to namedrop her since she's joshi, but I'd throw Tam Nakano out there. She's a rookie under Dave rules. She's already really good. I might sneak her into my third spot. The list gets sent to dave, fwiw. Also the point is to raise awareness, you never know who will seek these p...

Re: 2017 Most Improved

Last year, I ended up voting for Juice in one of my Most Improved spots, and I just don't like voting for someone in this category in successive years (like Miz voters tend to do). I like the suggestion of Velveteen Dream. Voting for someone from the joshi scene sometimes feels pointless, but I woul...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

It just hit me that on a show where David Finlay was on the preshow wrestling a Young Lion, Jay White closed the show with a major angle attacking and challenging Tanahashi. Remember back to those two working with each other constantly when they were starting out as Young Lions. Wow, were they ever...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

SInce Ibushi appears to be wrestling Cody for the ROH title at the Dome, I can maybe see Ishii or Goto getting the shot at Suzuki. I never thought it would be KUSHIDA. It's a shame Elgin is back once again with seemingly nothing to do at the Dome.

Maybe not as good as their match from last December, but Nakanishi and Nagata worked hard and had another nice match.

I'm surprised Bone Soldier merchandise was even made, much less a hoodie.
