Re: NJPW (Discussion)

Looking at the WTL field, some quick thoughts: - love Tanahashi continuing his streak of teaming with partners who aren't worth a damn. He and Goto as the BILLION POWERS seems like forever ago now - I've never seen Finlay as anything more than lower mid-carder, so it's gonna be weird and kinda cring...

Re: NJPW (Discussion)

Looking at today's results...God, I hope that the main event was a carbon copy of the NYC match and those poor Stateside saps had merely been the house show guinea pigs. Also enjoying that our glorious NEVER trios champs are basically starting to pile up creampuff defenses on some truly pitiful sets...

Re: All Elite Wrestling (Discussion)

The ragtag Jericho heel stable is pretty weird, with Santana & Ortiz seeming particularly out of place, but I am intrigued to see where that's all going. I would think of it as another tiny bit of inside baseball: from reading his books, I get the sense that Jericho takes particular pride in having...

Dunno if he's on here, but I would love for Brian to give his case as to why R3K is his favorite tag team (I assume he means in all of wrestling)--as a unit, I feel like they haven't done much this year to warrant maintaining that kind of love, even though I like them too. A little strange, I feel.....

I must disagree, John: you are very much a celebrity, a deity among weebs, and if I had the chance to meet you I would quake in fear, and probably spontaneously transform into a goose the moment I were to shake your hand. Hell, if I were to meet the missus, she would probably cause me to spontaneous...

Re: VOW Flagship: The Fiend, New TV Landscape, NJPW, ROH

Also, damn that list of 2017 Young Lions is grim. I don't know what's happened. I know some guys just won't be able to or willing to withstand the grind of the dojo schedule. But still feels odd that Kawato has just flat out disappeared. Like, I know this kid probably wasn't gonna light up the worl...

Re: WWE (Discussion)

It took me a week after the fact to watch CoC, I think the first PPV I've watched since last year's Rumble. While I obviously wasn't gonna watch everything, I did take the time to watch the tags and skim the rest, although I did note how throughout the night, there was a lot more than I remember of ...

Mars on top, Jupiter on bottom.

I'm pretty sure Yashushi Kanda's eye rakes--which at this point, look like they're gently rubbing his opponents' temples--are many leagues worse than the Butterfly Lock. (And I say that as someone who still likes Kanda, and is completely agnostic on Hashi.)

RE: Bodies in Motion guy Gallade? Any relation to the Pokémon, Gallade? For what it's worth, I thought the whole "heavy grappling is the easiest style of match to pull off" dialogue was the most fascinating part of last week's show. So don't feel too bad, Mr.Lanza...you did MORE than good considerin...

Re: Official WWE Thread

Serious question--would including Raw & Smackdown in that deal make it more or less enticing? I understand getting your money's worth, and if one is a diehard, they're a diehard...but holy crap, if WC and the Rumble are both even decent, you're invested in those two shows...and then you've got enoug...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

While their big end-of-tour show doesn't look too enticing, and it's sad to see Hammerstone relegated to the 1st half of the show, I'm really happy to see Kenou get another chance to ascend, and I'm intrigued to see just whatever the hell that semi-main's going to be.

Spent all day at jury duty today, thanks to the both of you (and the BritWres Roundtable) for getting me through that slog. Re: VOW Flagship: All Out, Royal Quest, Summer Sizzler, UK TakeOver

Given how you guys brought up that you would have cut bait on The Dark Order already, and have them disappear for a while for a repackage, exactly how do you metamorphose them? Back to SSB Form? Uno unmasks and you try them both as straight-laced wrestlers for a while (something Dos has done before,...
