Re: VOW Flagship: Anthem Buys AXS, Impact/NJPW Fallout, NJPW Destruction & RevPro Incident

RE: Bodies in Motion guy Gallade? Any relation to the Pokémon, Gallade? For what it's worth, I thought the whole "heavy grappling is the easiest style of match to pull off" dialogue was the most fascinating part of last week's show. So don't feel too bad, Mr.Lanza...you did MORE than good considerin...

Re: Official WWE Thread

Serious question--would including Raw & Smackdown in that deal make it more or less enticing? I understand getting your money's worth, and if one is a diehard, they're a diehard...but holy crap, if WC and the Rumble are both even decent, you're invested in those two shows...and then you've got enoug...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

While their big end-of-tour show doesn't look too enticing, and it's sad to see Hammerstone relegated to the 1st half of the show, I'm really happy to see Kenou get another chance to ascend, and I'm intrigued to see just whatever the hell that semi-main's going to be.

Re: Wrestling Omakase #110: AJPW 9/3, NJPW Road to Destruction, TJP & DDT 9/1 w/ Thomas

Spent all day at jury duty today, thanks to the both of you (and the BritWres Roundtable) for getting me through that slog. Re: "With Gerard...you're Thomas" I agree John, they ARE all faceless drones who are at your beck and call and who you can't tell apart. (except for Mr. Dunphy, Mr. Lanza, and ...

Re: VOW Flagship: All Out, Royal Quest, Summer Sizzler, UK TakeOver

Given how you guys brought up that you would have cut bait on The Dark Order already, and have them disappear for a while for a repackage, exactly how do you metamorphose them? Back to SSB Form? Uno unmasks and you try them both as straight-laced wrestlers for a while (something Dos has done before,...

Oh come on..."sloppy but fun, that's the Natsu Special"? You skilled in that double entendre shit, I see and catch that.

Re: The Natsu Special comment I see that you're keeping your pervy game strong...well done John. Re: the Twin Gate match being the best match on that show Well obviously, Kzy & Genki--the two best guys on the roster, mind you--were in it! If we go more than another year without Kzy finally winning t...

Re: VOW Flagship: VOW vs Impact, Wednesday Night Wars, Bouncin' x2

That would be the beauty of the experiment: we stick Stateside and naturally, they're nowhere near that mark, that much is true. BUT, at least in my case, I absolutely would make this a worldwide/global discussion. At that point, how crazy do you get with it? STARDOM above them? CMLL, maybe? Are BJW...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Aw, Hammerstone ran into a roadblock today...or a train, or a powerful plane, depending on who you ask. Still, I'm sure it was cool for him to get another singles main event, and most likely have a very good match pulled out of him by Big Boss Sugiura. He still has Marufuji and Kitamiya in front of ...

Re: VOW Flagship: VOW vs Impact, Wednesday Night Wars, Bouncin' x2

Listening a little further, and a few miscellaneous notes: - one smaller point not really mentioned in all of the Impact talk was that you arbitrarily numbered Impact as the 19th-most relevant promotion out there, in jest of course...but, I legitimately think it would make for a fun thought experime...

Re: VOW Flagship: VOW vs Impact, Wednesday Night Wars, Bouncin' x2

If you tweeted out positive things every now and then, or reviewed some of the shows critically, you might actually cultivate that relevancy in your own base.you guys are the tastemakers here! I think that's part of why the "difficulty" in watching Impact is such a big talking point for them; you c...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Catching up on results from the last couple of days, and Alex has gotten off on the right foot, hooray. All things considered, I am actually more intrigued about the fact that Taniguchi has this Wyvern Clutch now; either he has a submission now, or he has a wacky cradle now. On Shuhei, both things s...

Writing that novella has had a net positive effect, though--I'm now half-tempted to go watch it too. You sure you can't jump on to guest on one of our fine podcasts and finish convincing me?

RE: the Naito defense rant Hey, I think you forgot to mention the part where you think it's nuts that the company consistently plateaus down the guy you consider to be the best wrestler on Earth--and who would be more likely to make the company immediate, noticeable business as ace--in favor of some...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

One of my main takeaways from the tour is Naito, who I've always been a little mixed on, showing very little that says "I should be headlining the dome" his match with Shingo was superb and the Ishii match was great too but both those guys had great matches most nights You think Naito knew well ahe...
