Re: Kazuchika Okada is the greatest singles wrestler in the history of wrestling.

Jumbo, though. The stage at which he could be considered a great came so early in his career, he was working with some of the absolute best guys the wrestling world had to offer and more than holding his own. I think there's some obvious similarities to Okada there, but I find it really hard to quan...

Re: PROGRESS Thread: The Fake Taxi of Wrestling

Yep, doubt I'll be in the queue quick enough to get closer than row 6 haha - Progress queue's always start so damn early.

Re: PROGRESS Thread: The Fake Taxi of Wrestling

:|

Would've liked a front row seat, but they were "sold out" yesterday, so I got a row 2-6 one. Now there's front row for sale again? Great. Also, fuck booking fees and fuck unreserved seating.

Re: Revolution Pro Wrestling

Yeah, just look at how hard PROGRESS had to work to get him booed, and even then it was only about 50/50. Nothing like Havoc. The funny thing is, in terms of storyline and in terms of the work Marty was putting in, there were a hell of a lot of reasons to boo him, but it seems like that's something ...

Re: Revolution Pro Wrestling

The crowd was like non existent for majority of ZSJ bouts esp the one w/Shibata I think that's more of an issue with the pacing of the shows than anything, I really hate it when RevPro put the most anticipated match on just before intermission - in this case, Hero vs Ishii. Crowd didn't really reco...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

interesting day. first the Ibushi news. and now this, hm.... https://twitter.com/enuhito_eng/status/701725826610364416 So what's the story behind this? He was appointed to steer the ship during NJPW's "recovery period", but now the promotion's on sound financial footing they're restructuring. Obvio...

Re: PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerilla)

It's not like they are bleeding fans dry. As a fan outside of North America, this is the choice I face with PWG DVDs: pricey international shipping & potential customs charges vs a near £10/$14 mark-up to order from the UK Highspots site. The fact is that PWG is pirated in huge numbers. PWG shows a...

Re: NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10 (Official Discussion)

As anyone who watches football (proper football, not handegg) will know, not every bad tackle results in an injury - even when a player is injured, sometimes they then manage to "run it off" and are able to continue for the rest of the match. But in pro-wrestling logic things are much more black & w...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

It will probably be a very good show with some very good matches that will be probably get the five star treatment because of narrative. I find all this talk of narrative amusing, when did people enjoying something become anything more than that? Dylan said something similar on twitter and, to be h...

Oh man, that's a total bummer - do any of these boxes work via PC? The fact that I could run the service on my laptop was the only reason I was interested.

Re: GUIDE: How to watch Japanese wrestling channels!!

Anyone else been getting an odd glitch where there's no audio? Had to restart bluestacks a number of times before the sound returned.

Anywho, if I'm reading the schedule right the DDT show with Tana & Komatsu vs HARASHIMA & Ohka is on Samurai in about 10 hours, really looking forward to that one!

Re: GUIDE: How to watch Japanese wrestling channels!!

Excellent, I'll give it a go - just noticed that Open Broadcaster program was picking up the laptop's microphone as well, doubled the audio and recorded a couple of my mates talking about Fallout 4, whoops!

Re: Best Flying Wrestler

Ospreay. I'm probably a bit biased though, as I saw his entire rise to prominence in PROGRESS first hand and was super invested in the storyline of Jimmy's title reign. Will winning the belt at Chapter 20 was one of the best moments I've seen in wrestling in person and, while it was fantastic to wat...

Re: GUIDE: How to watch Japanese wrestling channels!!

Can anyone recommend a good screen recorder? Grabbed an episode of AJW Classics with Open Broadcaster but couldn't figure out how to make it not record the player buttons at the bottom of the screen without having to do a crop & re-encode of the resulting file. Also, seems the trial is longer than 2...
