Re: VOW Flagship: G1 Special in SF, Extreme Rules, G1 Preview & more!

Been a while since I've posted on one of these so I'm gonna get my feet wet here. First, I guess by the time the podcast was posted you didn't hear about this: https://doublegsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/@RIngOfHonor-400x240.jpg It's been 30+ years since I've been to a live wrestling show.....

Re: VOW Flagship: King of Pro-Wrestling, Hell in a Cell, WON HOF & more!

The Shibata thing wasn't a work. Look at his hair cut at the G1. It was obviously styled that way to hide the surgery scars. There's no way in the world Shibata is wrestling in January. Have to agree with Joe here: If Shibata returns to face Tanahashi at WK12, there are going to be a lot of people ...

Re: VOW Flagship: Mae Young Classic, NJPW Destruction & more!

If we compare everyone who transitions from mma to pro wrestling to Matt Riddle we're just going to be disappointed 99 times in a row. Dude's the Tanahashi of that journey, a once in a century natural. What would be the best historical examples of female wrestlers who projected badassery? Aja Kong ...

Re: VOW Flagship: Mae Young Classic, NJPW Destruction & more!

I should thank you guys for the Destruction skewering--it has motivated me to collect the entire WM vs. KES vs. GOD trilogy, as it will undoubtedly stand in the annals of time as evidence that no company , even one that fans are fapping off to at the time, is immune to running a specific match into...

Suggestion: The 20 Greatest Wrestling Cards of All Time

Listening to the latest edition of "da muthaship" had me thinking: What would the list of the twenty greatest wrestling cards ever look like? Requisites: Must've been between 1980-today (there are probably great matches that occurred earlier than that, but not sure if anybody could properly rate a m...

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania 33, Roman Reign's Performance, Okada vs. Shibata & more!

Guys like Lesnar & Shelton were good immediately, along with the mid card workhorse types of which you mentioned that never become stars but were "good solid veteran hands". The PC is in the business of making stars, not great workers, but I think being a great worker, or at least an adaptable one,...

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania 33, Roman Reign's Performance, Okada vs. Shibata & more!

They spend a ton of time sending these people to promo classes Really?! No offense but from what little I've seen these guys from the PC do...whoever's "teaching" them are either doing them a great injustice OR they're teaching them according to what Vince wants them to say/do/convey when they even...

Re: VOW Flagship: WrestleMania 33, Roman Reign's Performance, Okada vs. Shibata & more!

As always Rich and Joe, great show. I'm guessing Rich got sick because he got very little sleep putting together what was a 5-hour Wrestlemania weekend preview. Joe, count me as one of the guys that buried Roman...but only because he was pushed to the moon. Maybe he could've been something more and ...

WOW! Jesus, just when I think PWG might be slowing down, they've had a show every month!

And, as usual, awesome cards every show.

Re: VOW Flagship: NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11 Review

Jut finished the part about the NJPW shows in America, and forgive me if you guys went back to the subject later on, but I'd one up just doing a Okada/Omega match. I'd have Omega win the title there. What better way to make a statement about how serious they are about international expansion than h...

Re: VOW Flagship: Christmas Special!

Really dug this show. I think in regards to the pushes of Naito and Sasha, the reason people get upset is because people are invested in the titles they don't have, namely the IWGP Heavyweight and WWE RAW women's title. Those titles have prestige, and people want to see their favorites hold those t...

Re: VOW Flagship: Christmas Special!

Great show. I burst out laughing in my office bathroom at "Bring on Bollywood #2, for god's sake." (with regards to Cruiserweight Division booking) Hopefully none of the co-workers heard. I think another big thing in 2016 was Kota Ibushi's lack of commitment and various random bookings. Sabre Jr no...

Re: VOW Flagship: Wrestle Kingdom 11, Roadblock: End of the Line & more!

Listening to the opener and there is no way Joe would win a fight against Jack Gallagher as he had a couple amateur MMA fights and is undefeated Wrestling is a work. It's about looking tough or conveying that you're tough. He doesn't come across as tough, and he doesn't come across as skilled enoug...

Re: VOW Flagship: Wrestle Kingdom 11, Roadblock: End of the Line & more!

Just following the booking and not getting around to being an actual NJPW consumer yet, Okada being Omega's final scalp to close out the year is perfect storytelling. Is it just me or, where as WrestleMania is all about the hype to set up a "moment", Wrestle Kingdom is all about the hype to a MOTYC...

Re: 205 Live, TLC, AJPW Sumo Hall, WON HOF & more!

Will 205 live have a 4 star+ match in the next two months? What would you place the betting odds on this. (yes I know star ratings are subjective but I think most of us know a 4 star when we see it). I wouldn't even take even odds on this bet RN. I, for one, would give the O/U on a 4 star+ match on...
