Re: Kazuchika Okada is the greatest singles wrestler in the history of wrestling.
Have any of you written an essay in your life? College educated? I've presented my thesis and I've provided ONE piece of supporting evidence to support it. Of course I think he's the greatest ever. That is why I am making this post. But there is a huge difference in the discussion with me stating i...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??
Akiyama took control in June 2014, no? So it's been a much longer road. The challenge Akiyama faced was/is deeper than it is for NOAH right now, I think. I agree that they need a big singles star or something similar, it was the same with New Japan in 2012. Having a symbolic person or storyline that...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread
Having lapsed out for six months I'm very confused over this Tiger Mask thing. What is the relationship between the makers and New Japan? Does Ibushi own the rights to the mask, has he been endorsed by the show? Is the new Tiger Mask exclusive to NJPW? And is it having an impact on the business side...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??
You can't really trust those numbers though. As with a lot of Japanese promotions in recent years, suddenly being honest about attendances makes it seem much worse than it really is. There is absolutely no chance 6,000 people were legit at Nagata vs. Sugiura.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread
Miyahara/Sekimoto was confirmed for 5/25 Korakuen if twitter translations are accurate (lmao) Btw, if you've got 10 minutes Akiyama/Super Tiger vs. Aoki/Nomura from before the carnival is worth watching. The match is fun, but Akiyama getting pissy with Nomura is spectacular. Guaranteed dosage of gru...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread
On first watch, this most recent Akiyama/Miyahara match has shades of a New Japan sprint. I can see big fans of NJ really liking it. It's a fun watch, but for me, Miyahara no selling an exploder to ZERO reacion isn't why I watch All Japan, or what makes them different. There are a couple of moments ...

The spot in Suzuki/Ishikawa where they sit down and slap each other might be the dumbest spot I've seen in ages.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread
Was trying to go through some All Japan from last year because I stopped watching for a while, and most of it is gone, same for a lot of 2014 stuff. I suppose this applies to BJW, DDT etc as well, but is this all completely lost? Did anyone save a good portion of it? 2013 and before is still well co...

Okada/Sanada would probably kill Japanese wrestling if it went over 20 minutes, so there's a lot riding on the Dontaku show...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread
Are all the Champions Carnival matches being aired somewhere? Sorry if it's said a couple of pages back but I couldn't find it. Some really good cards it would be a shame for them to not turn up. The final night looks interesting and full of potentially really strong tournament narratives, so long a...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread
Those shows with title matches are in bigger venues than usual touring shows, which suggests it's not a matter of them bumping attendances in the venues they usually run for tours.pol wrote:I guess the recent tours haven't been doing so well. Which of those will air on TV?
